Several U.S. defense companies are looking to buy back Taiwan's aging fleet of F-5 fighter jets for their training programs.

00:00Taiwan's Air Force has confirmed that several U.S. companies are interested in buying back
00:05the country's fleet of F-5 fighter jets.
00:08The U.S.-made fighter jets were first purchased back in 1973 and have been in service for
00:13more than 50 years.
00:15The aircraft were used by the military to monitor Chinese activity but have since been
00:19retired from active service and are now mostly used as trainers.
00:24Military officials say the U.S. plans to use the aging aircraft as enemy fighters in training
00:29programs.
