00:04Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at the most scandalous sudden incidents that
00:08led to actors or TV hosts getting their marching orders to head off set permanently.
00:12In drive gearbox, violent settings.
00:17J. Thomas, Cheers
00:18Known for his radio work, Thomas began transitioning into TV acting with a role in Mork and Mindy.
00:25Then in the late 80s, he was cast as Eddie LeBeck in Cheers, playing the love interest
00:29of Rhea Perlman's Carla Tortelli.
00:40However, in 1989, when a caller rang into Thomas' radio show and asked him about the
00:45role, the actor responded that it was brutal since he had to kiss Perlman.
00:49Yikes.
00:50Thomas later claimed he was talking about the character, not the actor.
00:52Shortly after, Eddie was written out of Cheers as he was fatally mowed down by a Zamboni.
00:57One of the penguins slipped, fell in front of the machine, Eddie dived, just in time,
01:03pushed the guy out of the way, and he never felt a thing.
01:07After which he was then discovered to be a polygamist, a trait that really destroyed
01:10his character.
01:11I've done a terrible thing.
01:13I had to marry another woman.
01:15I didn't want to, but I made her pregnant.
01:18Oh, I guess I did two terrible things.
01:23John Pulido, Homicide, Life on the Street
01:25Not many TV actors get a part written specifically for them, yet that's what Pulido got with
01:30Steve Cressetti in Homicide, Life on the Street.
01:32However, due to low ratings, NBC wanted to shake up the show by introducing more female
01:37characters and removing Cressetti, otherwise it'd risk being cancelled.
01:44But showrunner Tom Fontana had another idea.
01:46He told Pulido that Cressetti would be written off, but he'd return after the series was
01:50renewed.
01:51Not believing this, Pulido criticized Fontana publicly.
01:54When Homicide, Life on the Street came back in season three, Cressetti took his own life.
02:04Pulido regretted what he said, and bridges were mended when he cameoed in 2000's Farewell
02:08to the Franchise.
02:09Homicide the Movie
02:10Ahsan Inji, Emmerdale
02:19In 2018, Ellis Chapman debuted in the UK soap opera Emmerdale.
02:23Played by Inji, he took the role by storm as he claimed nominations in award ceremonies.
02:27However, a ceremony would also be Inji's downfall.
02:31Following the 2019 TV Choice Awards, he was recorded being dragged away from a very heated
02:35argument with Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas.
02:43The two even got into a brief fight, with Inji reportedly threatening to use a knife
02:47on Lomas.
02:48Bizarrely, Ellis had recently been involved in a stabbing story on Emmerdale.
02:55After broadcaster ITV initially suspended Inji, he was fired from the soap as he apologized.
03:00The role of Ellis was later recast, with Aaron Anthony taking the role until departing in
03:042022.
03:09Columbus Short – Scandal
03:10In 2014, fans of Scandal were shocked.
03:20At the end of season three, Harrison Wright had a firearm pointed at him, leaving it on
03:24a cliffhanger.
03:25But when the show returned in season four, he'd been killed off.
03:28This was due to what actor Short was getting up to at the time, which he blamed on substance
03:32In 2014, on top of domestic abuse allegations from his wife, Short allegedly threw a running
03:44punch on a man during a family gathering, knocking him out.
03:47As such, Short was forced to depart Scandal.
03:49In 2015, he pleaded no contest to assault.
03:52Short received three years of probation, two months of community labor, and had to take
03:5626 anger management classes.
04:00Blaine Crawford – Lethal Weapon
04:02It wasn't just one outburst that led to Crawford being kicked off of the Lethal Weapon
04:06TV series, but several.
04:09Firstly, as detailed by the Martin Riggs actor, he once screamed at an assistant director
04:15for not controlling noise from kids swimming nearby during a scene, leading to Crawford
04:19needing anger management classes and being escorted by security on set.
04:27More infamously, he also clashed with co-star Damon Wayans.
04:31After Wayans was injured during a stunt directed by Crawford, the two clashed on set the following
04:35day.
04:36They were recorded arguing and swapping insults.
04:38In 2018, the Lethal Weapon creators had enough and fired Crawford.
04:44Instead, Sean William Scott joined the cast as Wesley Cole.
04:51Thomas Gibson – Criminal Minds
04:57From the inception of Criminal Minds in 2005, Gibson had been a cornerstone of the franchise
05:02as BAU chief Aaron Hodge Hotchner.
05:05But in 2016, all that ended when he directed an episode.
05:10Concerned about a line in the script, he approached writer-producer Virgil Williams.
05:14An argument then escalated that resulted in Gibson allegedly kicking Williams.
05:18The actor, who is an original cast member on the crime drama, has been fired from the
05:23CBS series following an on-set altercation where he allegedly kicked a writer.
05:28According to the actor, Williams walked into his foot.
05:31Regardless, this outburst wasn't the only time Gibson allegedly had issues.
05:34In 2010, he was sent to anger management classes after an incident with an assistant director,
05:39as well as a DUI and having confrontations with then-colleague Shamar Moore.
05:43Gibson was dropped by Criminal Minds, and Hotch was written out.
05:46Isaiah Washington – Grey's Anatomy
05:55From the first episode of the long-running medical drama Grey's Anatomy, Washington
05:59was there as Dr. Preston Burke, picking up awards for his work.
06:03However, in 2006, reports that Washington had gotten into an argument with co-star Patrick
06:07Dempsey came out.
06:08This all started back in 2006.
06:11Catherine, who played Dr. Izzy Stevens on the show, alleged that Isaiah, who played
06:15Dr. Preston Burke, had made a homophobic slur.
06:19Washington had allegedly used a slur when discussing colleague T.R. Knight.
06:22Due to this scandal, Knight publicly came out as gay.
06:25Then at the 64th Golden Globe Awards, Washington repeated the slur to the press while denying
06:29having said it to Dempsey about Knight.
06:31This resulted in ABC not renewing the actor's contract on Grey's Anatomy, and Burke was
06:35written out of the show before a brief appearance in 2014.
06:49Jeremy Clarkson – Top Gear
06:51In 2014, Clarkson was recorded during rehearsal for Top Gear doing the traditional version
07:00of Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe, including a racial slur used in some past versions.
07:04Due to the backlash, he was told by BBC bosses he had one last chance.
07:08Well, Clarkson used that up in 2015.
07:16After the production chef had left the set, Clarkson wanted a steak, which wasn't possible.
07:20So, he was given the choice of eating soup and cold meat as alternatives.
07:24This enraged the TV host so much that he reportedly uttered racial insults and punched Irish producer
07:30Oisín Tymon.
07:31The BBC withdrew the three-year contract extension, and he left Top Gear.
07:46He was soon followed by co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond.
07:49In 2016, Clarkson settled a lawsuit from Tymon and apologised for what happened.
07:54Charlie Sheen – Two and a Half Men
07:56In 2011, Sheen, the then-reigning champion of TV, went to a rehabilitation centre for
08:01the third time in a year, causing the production of Two and a Half Men to pause.
08:09Shortly after, when appearing as a guest on the radio program The Alex Jones Show, Sheen
08:13ranted about Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre while using anti-Semitic language.
08:22He followed this with more Lorre insults with TMZ and other publications, causing season
08:278 to be cut short and Sheen to be banned from the Warner Brothers lot.
08:30This scandal caused Sheen to be fired from Two and a Half Men.
08:33The actor was then interviewed by several publications, giving bizarre and infamous
08:36responses about tiger blood that's haunted his career ever since.

08:59Alec Baldwin – Up Late with Alec Baldwin
09:05Known for not shying away from giving his opinions, the actor was given his own MSNBC
09:09talk show, Up Late with Alec Baldwin, in 2013.
09:12He originally planned to do it for at least a year before seeing whether or not to continue.
09:16However, after only five episodes, the broadcaster cancelled the show publicly.
09:20At the time, Baldwin was recorded yelling a homophobic slur at a photographer in New
09:24York.
09:25The host denied using the gross phrase but apologized regardless when he was initially
09:28suspended.
09:29Actor Alec Baldwin has officially parted ways with MSNBC and his six-week-old talk show,
09:34Up Late with Alec Baldwin.
09:35Baldwin's reps and the cable channel announced Tuesday that the interview program has been
09:39cancelled and the decision to part was mutual.
09:42After having his show shelved, Baldwin, rather than putting his hands up for the incident,
09:46decided to blame the gay activists Rich Ferraro and Andrew Sullivan for its demise.
