00:32This stage and screen actor has lent his distinguishable voice to several notable
00:36characters including Lewis in Ice Age Continental Drift and Chuck from the Angry Birds movie
00:41franchise. But we all know there's one that stands out above them all and he's worth melting for.
00:47Gad brought something magical to Olaf, improvising many of the lines we're still quoting today.
00:52Oh look at that. I've been impaled.
00:55The actor also shared an anecdote about how his voice kind of saved Olaf from being cut
01:00from the movie. Frozen without Olaf? What were they thinking?
01:04I just found this out though I had no idea and she said yeah because of you Olaf lived.
01:08This lovable snowman is a flurry of fun and steals any scene he's in and that's largely
01:14thanks to Gad. No wonder he's gotten to be the star of many of the franchise's shorts.

01:21This actress has a distinct voice that is tailor-made for animation.
01:26Indeed, it has served her well over the years.

01:29We're either in a cafe in Paris or a coffee shop in New Jersey.
01:33I'm pretty sure I just came back from the doctor with life-changing news.
01:37Her unique sound can be heard in Bob's Burgers, Gravity Falls and BoJack
01:41Horseman among many others.
01:43The only reason I wear this shirt is because some company paid me eight thousand dollars
01:47to wear it and I don't even need the money. I just liked that someone still wanted me to
01:52wear their shirt.
01:53Schaal seamlessly pairs her one-of-a-kind vocals with incredible comedic timing
01:57that never fails to breathe new life into her characters.
02:01With just a slight change of intonation, she can go from sweet and unassuming to
02:05wildly unhinged while still keeping her characters very likable.
02:09I love love love it except for this little guy he's kind of giving me the creeps.

02:19In fact, her performances are so exceptional that some casting directors are known to put
02:24out calls for a Kristen Schaal type, which sounds like a huge compliment if you ask us.

02:40Alex Hirsch, Gravity Falls
02:42Yes! In your face, Elizabeth!

02:48In a way.
02:49Not only did Alex Hirsch put everything he had into creating the show,
02:53he also must have suffered some serious vocal strain with all the different characters he played.
02:57Grunkle Stan, in particular, has a very gruff voice,
03:00which must be the hardest for Hirsch to do since it's so different from his natural speaking voice.

03:10That's Grunkle Stan.
03:11Also included in the showrunner's host of cartoon portrayals is the uber chill fix-it guy Soos,
03:16the local hillbilly McGucket, and the big bad Bill Cipher.
03:27Unless you know they're all the same guy, and even once you do,
03:30it's pretty impossible to hear any similarity between them,
03:33which makes Hirsch all the more admirable as a performer.

03:48This multi-faceted voice actor can really do it all.
03:51No, I am sick of this guy always mouthing off and telling me what to do.
03:56Oh, you don't like it? Well, let's go right now!
03:59With credits in series like SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar The Last Airbender,
04:03Gravity Falls, and countless others,
04:05Baker was pretty much the voice of our childhoods whether we knew it or not.
04:08He's also the voice behind several animated animals,
04:11perhaps most iconically Phineas and Ferb's Perry the Platypus.
04:15But if you want to see some major skill,
04:17we'd suggest switching on Ben 10 Omniverse,
04:20where he brought so many characters to life he reportedly overexerted his throat.
04:25But perhaps it is time to share a little.
04:29My object was stolen off an armored transport three days ago
04:33when I was intending to rob myself, but I digress.
04:38And we'd love to have seen him record the voices for all those clone troopers
04:41in the animated Star Wars universe.
04:43Talk about bringing the force and more.
04:46Echo is closer to the clone, the basic clone voice,
04:51but he's often got a grumpier tone to his voice.
04:59Mooshu and Donkey are arguably two of the most hilarious
05:02and beloved sidekicks of the 90s and the aughts.
05:05And that's in large part thanks to Eddie Murphy's comedic skills.
05:16The actor and comedian really lifted the dialogue off the page
05:20with his animated expression and overzealous delivery.
05:23He's often at his best when bringing comic relief to high-tension scenes
05:27or whipping out zingy one-liners.
05:40So it's hardly surprising that Mooshu quickly became Mulan's breakout character.
05:45Meanwhile, we are still waiting on a Donkey-centric full-length feature.
05:50Is it entirely unrealistic to hope for a universe crossover?
06:05Now that is a movie we want to see.
06:07Both stand out as Murphy's best animated roles,
06:10and we are not ready for him to retire either one quite yet.
06:20I am the powerful, the pleasurable, the indestructible Mooshu!
06:29Being an unsuccessful villain isn't easy.
06:32However, with the right charismatic voice to pull off his moody and sarcastic demeanor,
06:36Gru quickly became a fan favorite.
06:38According to Carell, finding the line between funny and threatening was tricky,
06:51but he definitely found the right balance.
06:54Reportedly, he tried out several voices on his kids
06:57and ultimately chose the one that made them laugh.
07:09Like their father, these kids clearly have great judgment for comedic brilliance.
07:13And if we thought Gru was delightfully dramatic,
07:15we were in for a treat when Despicable Me 3
07:18introduced his even more over-the-top twin brother Drew.
07:34He might not be the most despicable villain,
07:36but he managed to steal our hearts all the same.
07:41Known in the industry for his motion capture work,
07:44Andy Serkis is a master at warping his voice in a bunch of over-the-top ways.
07:49He's Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies,
07:51so that should be about all the convincing you need.
08:01He also played Kong in 2005's King Kong,
08:04Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes,
08:06and Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars The Force Awakens,
08:09among a plethora of other roles and cameos.
08:21Serkis' range in vocal pitch alone is truly something to be in awe of.
08:34With more than 860 credits to his name,
08:42you will most certainly be familiar with Welker's voice,
08:44whether you know it or not.
08:52Are you a fan of Scooby-Doo?
08:53An avid viewer of Transformers?
08:55Or have a soft spot for a boo from Aladdin?
08:58Well, you can attribute Fred, Megatron, Soundwave,
09:01and Aladdin's little sidekick to this voice actor,
09:04and the Cave of Wonders.
09:16In addition to Abu,
09:17Welker brought a ton of other non-verbal animal characters to life
09:20through dynamic sound effects and immeasurable ingenuity.
09:32He's also the only remaining original actor from the Scooby-Doo franchise.
09:46It's a true testament to the actor that he can take his talents
09:49across such a wide range of roles
09:52and create so many remarkable characters.
09:54His skills truly know no bounds.
10:01and Fern Gully, The Last Rainforest.
10:03Theater, film, television, voice work...
10:06Is there anything Tim Curry can't do?
10:08While we couldn't possibly list every occasion where he goes above and beyond,
10:12we'd be remiss not to single out his role
10:14as Nigel Thornberry in the Wild Thornberrys franchise.
10:18Yes! Ah! Inching along like the world is afire!
10:23Oh, look at him go! A regular lightning bolt!
10:26Well, that is as far as caterpillars go.
10:30We don't think anyone could have pulled off the eccentric,
10:32life-loving adventurer as convincingly or endearingly as Curry.
10:36Plus, since the actor typically plays villains,
10:39it was great seeing him break the mold
10:41and give his all to something entirely different.
10:43That being said, he also makes being bad look so good.
10:47Hexus from Fern Gully, The Last Rainforest
10:49is such a brilliantly dramatic and creepy villain
10:52that he is still giving us nightmares.
11:09There are a number of Disney villain voice actors
11:11who deserve the utmost praise.
11:13For example, Pat Carroll is without a doubt
11:16the reason Ursula is so iconic and memorable.
11:30With that said, we just can't get over
11:32James Woods' flawless embodiment of Hades
11:34in the underrated classic Hercules.
11:36Every line is so flawlessly delivered
11:39that even without the help of the emotive animation,
11:41each sentiment is conveyed perfectly
11:43through the actor's intonation alone.
11:46He brings striking charisma to the villain too,
11:53not to mention humor by the boatload,
11:55which makes his behind-the-scenes recordings
11:58super enjoyable to watch.
12:08A character actor who also happens to be an A-lister
12:12and a gifted musician,
12:13Jack Black does it all
12:14and does it with everything he's got.
12:20That of course includes his voice acting,
12:23whether it's supporting roles in films
12:24like Ice Age and Shark Tale,
12:26video game voices like his award-winning work
12:28in Brutal Legend,
12:29or leading roles in franchises like Kung Fu Panda.
12:38However, the role that cemented Jablinski
12:40as a king of over-the-top voice acting
12:43and the Koopas was Bowser
12:45in the Super Mario Brothers movie.
13:00An evil villain with a larger-than-life personality
13:03and the gruff commanding voice to match,
13:05Bowser also has a softer side,
13:07as evidenced by the viral hit song
13:09Black himself helped pen for the film.
13:13Peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches.
13:17Ah!
13:18Oh, yeah!
13:20Oh!
13:25And my favorite line is,
13:26that's a sharp outfit, Chan,
13:28sharp enough to punch through the hull
13:29of an Empire-class Fire Nation battleship,
13:31leaving thousands to drown at sea
13:33because it's so... sharp!
13:36Grey Delisle is a voice actress
13:38who's been in the business a long time.
13:40She's got enough roles to fill the length of this video
13:43if we just continuously name them
13:44without pausing for breath,
13:46and then some probably.
13:47That makes it pretty impossible
13:48to nail down any single of her roles as her best,
13:52but what we will say
13:53is that her take on Azula is simply brilliant.
13:56-"Oh, what choice do I have?
13:58Trust is for fools.
13:59Fear is the only reliable way.
14:02Even you fear me."
14:04It's clear Delisle gives it her all in the booth
14:06because, honestly,
14:07Azula just wouldn't be as convincing if she didn't.
14:09By the end of the series,
14:11she becomes Avatar's true villain,
14:13and it takes a special kind of voice acting
14:16to be able to pull off that level of disturbed.
14:27Number 18.
14:29Billy West, Futurama
14:30Here is yet another actor
14:32left talking to themselves behind the mic.
14:34Billy West's work as Fry on Futurama is fantastic.
14:37He's got the perfect cadence
14:39for that dopey Golden Retriever energy.
14:41-"My shares still count
14:42if they went through the washing machine, right?"
14:44But where he really gets to have fun
14:46is as Farnsworth and Zoidberg.
14:48-"Looks like airplane food.
14:50You know, like a diseased piece of chicken
14:52stretched around a bone.
14:54He's 147 years old,
14:56so he probably farts dust."
14:57With this latter voice,
14:59West drew inspiration from George Jessel
15:01of the vaudeville era,
15:02Lou Jacoby from Arthur,
15:03and Curly from The Three Stooges.

15:06Do you have to have been cryogenically frozen

15:14It's majorly impressive
15:15to not only be such an accomplished impressionist,
15:18but to be able to reform those impressions
15:20into something uniquely your own.
15:22And that is apart from the lengths West goes to
15:24for the voices of Ren and Stimpy,
15:26as well as that of Bugs Bunny.
15:28-"You're gonna be just fine.
15:30Somebody call a doctor!"
15:33Number 17.
15:34Alan Tudyk, Various
15:36Imagine being such an accomplished
15:38and versatile voice actor
15:39that folks at Disney reportedly dub you
15:41their good luck charm.
15:42Since lending his voice to King Candy
15:44in 2012's Wreck-It Ralph,
15:46Tudyk has gone on to play
15:47some of the animation giant's
15:48most eccentric characters.
15:50-"I'm Turbo, the greatest racer ever!
15:54And I did not reprogram this world to let you
15:57and that holocaust-riddled warthog
16:00take it away from me!"
16:02Duke Weaselton in Zootopia,
16:04Frozen's Duke of Weselton,
16:05and Skrull in Disenchanted
16:07barely scratch the surface.
16:09Also, can we talk about how
16:10he didn't even need to utter
16:12a single intelligible word
16:13to make Heihei one of Moana's
16:15breakout characters?
16:16Now that's a real testament
16:17to his comedic skills.
16:22Naturally, Disney cast him
16:23as Valentino the Goat
16:25in the 2023 animated musical Wish.
16:27After all, he is basically
16:29the goat of Disney voice acting.
16:31-"Well, as your closest partner in trade,
16:34I think it's only fitting
16:35that I offer you your first dance,
16:37Miss Queen."
16:38Number 16, Nancy Cartwright,
16:40The Simpsons.
16:41-"True or false,
16:42you can get mono from riding
16:44the monorail."
16:45-"Mmm, false.
16:47No, wait, maybe it's true."
16:49While Dan Castellaneta's
16:50coup as Homer cannot be overstated,
16:52we just know it's an effort
16:54to sustain the voice of Bart.
16:55Well, it's likely second nature
16:57to Nancy Cartwright now,
16:58given the sheer amount of years
16:59she's been working on The Simpsons,
17:01but the voice is still one we love.

17:04you were stuck in an emasculating

17:07It's as cartoony as they come,
17:09and always incredibly entertaining

17:59is as marvelously and memorably
18:01out there as Kronk
18:03from The Emperor's New Groove.
18:04Warburton plays the endearing dummy
18:06so brilliantly that we can almost
18:08forgive him for being Yzma's henchman,
18:10especially as they share
18:11such an entertaining rapport.
18:12-"Oh, right.
18:14The poison.
18:15The poison for Kuzco.
18:16The poison chosen
18:17specially to kill Kuzco.
18:18Kuzco's poison.
18:21That poison?"
18:22-"Yes, that poison."
18:22-"Gotcha covered."
18:24Is it any surprise
18:25he took center stage
18:26in the movie's 2005 sequel spinoff?
18:28Warburton's performance
18:29is as delicious
18:30as Kronk's signature spinach puffs.
18:35We couldn't possibly forget
18:37about this queen.
18:38Throughout her career,
18:39Strong has used her voice
18:40to bring countless beloved
18:41and outlandish characters
18:42to life across various mediums.
18:54We know her as Bubbles
18:55from the Powerpuff Girls,
18:57Dill Pickles in the Rugrats franchise,
18:59and Timmy Turner,
19:00among others,
19:00from the Fairly Oddparents,
19:02to name a few.
19:03We mean it when we say
19:04she gives everything to those roles.
19:06She also goes above and beyond,
19:08giving an extra something to Raven
19:10in the Teen Titans world.
19:12Raven is such a multifaceted character,
19:14and Strong brings that to life
19:15by relaying a plethora of emotions
19:17without compromising
19:18the character's badass,
19:20deadpan nature.
19:21That's no easy task.

19:29It's a portal into my mind,
19:31not a toy!"
19:33In other words,
19:34Tara Strong basically
19:35is our childhood.
19:40The Family Guy creator
19:41is arguably one of the best
19:42voice actors of the modern era.
19:55Apparently,
19:55he had such a strong idea
19:57for how he wanted
19:58some of the show's characters to sound,
20:00that he decided
20:01it would just be easier
20:02to play them himself.

26:27naively optimistic personality,

28:39is wonderfully
28:40and magically over-the-top.

29:16We guess after being trapped
29:18for 10,000 years,
29:20Genie really needed to let
29:21his freak flag fly,
29:22and Robin Williams was just the guy
29:24to help him do it.
