00:00Every time it rains heavily in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City, the flood reaches the second floor of Jalene Lastimosa's house.
00:15Because of the flood, they lost their rice cooker, washing machine, electric fan, and TV.
00:21We don't have electricity and other things that we can do because of the budget. We are in need of help.
00:29Nemia Salvador has been living in Barangay Tatalon for more than 50 years. That's why she's used to the flood.
00:35But at the age of 74, she can no longer carry many things.
00:40She just lowers the circuit breakers.
00:43When the flood comes, she immediately lets the flooded items dry.
00:47I just put it on after four days.
00:49Because you don't know if it will explode.
00:51I just check if it's still wet or not.
00:54According to technician Ryan Hete, if there's a flood, remove the appliances that are wet.
01:01For the flood, if it's wet, they should not immediately dry it.
01:06Because most of the time, there's a fire.
01:10The electric fan can still be used.
01:12If the switch is reached, it can be used as a blower or to dry it during the day.
01:17This is what we will open so we can blow it.
01:21Don't make it too hot because it might explode.
01:24Just right.
01:25Just remove the tornadoes at the back so you can open it.
01:29When it's removed, this is what it looks like.
01:32The refrigerator should be raised or placed with a door so that the water can be drained.
01:38The LCDs of the TV should be immediately dried for three to four days.
01:43When it's completely dry, just plug it in.
01:46If the TV doesn't work, don't force it and ask the electricians to fix it.
01:52It's better if you don't turn the appliances and ask the electricians to fix it so it won't be damaged.
