00:00We had a scenario where we were looking for a missing kayaker and what would I do in that
00:08scenario? The scenario was they'd left the beach by Tesco's and they were heading for
00:13the catamaran club but hadn't come ashore yet. So we went through the process of what we would
00:20do for a search and how I managed the crew. We then went into doing some search patterns as if
00:28the coast guard had given me the search patterns they wanted me to do. Then during that unfortunately
00:36we had a man overboard so we had to stop what we was doing to rescue the man overboard which wasn't
00:41a real person it was just a throwback. Then we had to anchor, then I had to do a bit of teaching with
00:48the crew on our flares and our pyrotechnics. Then we had a simulated engine fire. So yeah
00:57there's quite a lot involved in that two-hour assessment and you just don't know what they're
01:02going to throw at you. You know all the possibilities of the things they could throw at you
01:06but it's a bit like going on your driving test really you just don't know until you're out and about.
