Lightweight on his journey to dominate again.
Transcript
00:00What about Oliveras? You fought him before. It was at UFC 262 three years ago.
00:04He won that one in a second round TKO. As you look back on that night, what kind of thoughts do you have?
00:09And what kind of adjustments do you make coming into this fight?
00:12A lot of adjustments, man. I have changed so much since the first time we fought.
00:16Shoot, I have changed so much since my last fight in November of 2022 with a little bit of time off.
00:23I wasn't ready, you know, just to be quite honest.
00:28I was ready physically, but I wasn't ready mentally.
00:30The way that I fought, make no mistake about it, I still will be the most exciting guy at Madison Square Garden on November 16th.
00:38But there's going to be little tweaks to the game plan.
00:40There's going to be little tweaks to my approach to the sport from a mental and spiritual aspect.
00:47And I made a lot of big mistakes, left some gaping holes.
00:50Charles caught me, but he remembers the power, he remembers the speed, he remembers the tenacity.
00:55And I think this time it's going to be a more whole performance.
00:59And I'm not only going to win, but I'm going to dominate.
01:02And I'm going to cement myself as the number one contender.
01:04And I will be there, cage side.
01:06I believe it's going to be January, Islam Mahachev fights Armin Saroukian.
01:10And I will be the number one contender.
01:12And we'll see when that fight happens.
01:14Or we'll see if Conor can finally get his house in order.
01:16And that fight's on the table as well.
01:18As well as a fight with Max Holloway in 2025 for that BMF belt that people have been talking about.
01:24So we've got a lot of big fights, man.
01:26And I took a little break, and now we're about to hit the ground running.
