Chhath puja vrat ki katha: आस्था का महापर्व छठ खासतौर से दिल्ली बिहार, झारखंड और पूर्वी उत्तर प्रदेश में मनाया जाने वाला एक प्रमुख पर्व है. चार दिवसीय पर्व सूर्यदेव और छठी मैया को समर्पित होता है. छठ पूजा का धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक दोनों ही दृष्टि से बहुत महत्व माना गया है. छठ पूजा की शुरुआत कार्तिक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की चतुर्थी तिथि के दिन नहाय-खाय से होती है. यह त्योहार 4 दिनों तक चलता है. छठ पूजा के दूसरे दिन खरना का परंपरा भाई जाती है. छठ के तीसरे दिन यानी कार्तिक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की षष्ठी तिथि को डूबते सूर्य को अर्घ्य देकर छठ पूजा की जाती है.

Chhath Puja begins with Nahai-Khai on the Chaturthi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This festival lasts for 4 days. The tradition of Kharna is observed on the second day of Chhath Puja. Chhath Puja is performed by offering Arghya to the setting sun on the third day of Chhath, i.e. on the Shashthi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month.
