Grosvenor: The £1 venue reopens

The Grosvenor has reopened right in the hard of Manchester’s student area, and it’s the perfect place to spend an evening.

00:00The Grosvenor is now open in Manchester and I was given a sneak peek into what it's going

00:06to look like.

00:07I'm here now at the Grade 2 listed building and as you can see around me, they've done

00:11a miraculous job of turning what is a really classic old school building and giving it

00:16a modern twist.

00:17Be it the two bars, the sports on the TV or the great little seating arrangements around

00:22it, I'm going to take you through everything that they've got to offer so that you can

00:25decide if you want to give it a try.

00:27Let's go.

00:28One of the main attractions of this place during the day is, as you can see on the huge

00:31TV behind me, the fact that they're showing sport here.

00:34Now they're promising to show every major football and event, they've had some NFL on,

00:38they've got some tennis on at the minute and the seating arrangements, certainly on the

00:41top floor, are absolutely perfect for watching the sports.

00:45Now I'm in one of the more private corners here of the Grosvenor.

00:47There's a little sign that says Peep Show above the top.

00:50I don't think anyone's going to be expecting anything like that but it is sort of a little

00:53clasped up area with marble style countertops and curtains that can be pulled across to

00:58create a little private space.

01:00I believe they'll be taking bookings for this area.

01:02You've got a TV and obviously all the drinks and food that you could want as well.

01:08So let's talk a little bit about the drinks and food then.

01:10They offer a range of cocktails which is £10 each and are genuinely really nice and a bunch

01:14of little snacks and pizzas as well, which again were great.

01:18So they gave me some of the cocktails to try out.

01:20I'm a big fan of an espresso martini but they gave me a couple of others to try as well

01:24and genuinely all of them were really really enjoyable.

01:26They're not too expensive at £10, you'll certainly find more expensive in Manchester

01:30but there are a great range of beers as well and the pizza was top quality too.

01:34One of the other great things about the Grosvenor is the amount of activities they've got.

01:38They've got Beer Pong here which you can see me, here's my first go by the way.

01:41So that's the space really between Beer Pong, sports, DJ, pool, great drinks.

01:47There's a lot of things to be carrying on with.

01:50And as the staff here get ready for the big opening now, I'm going to settle in and enjoy myself.
