02:46A New Corellia, Davao del Norte resident was infected with rabies.

02:50But he was not bitten, but was fed dog meat.

02:53According to the Rural Health Unit of New Corellia,

02:56they examined the victim after he was diagnosed with rabies on October 24.

03:02He confessed to eating dog meat.

03:04He was brought to Davao Regional Medical Center

03:07and died of viral encephalitis due to rabies.

03:11Victims and dogs in their area were taken care of.

03:16Aside from the illegal slaughter and sale of dog meat,

03:20the DOH also issued a warning not to eat dog meat to avoid rabies.
