00:00Hello teachers and learners of Wales. Hub Minecraft Education Edition and the
00:05Welsh Rugby Union are delighted to bring you the first ever National Minecraft
00:10Education Edition Build Challenge to build a club of the future. Have you ever
00:16wondered what the future looks like? Well, we are giving you the chance to
00:21design and build your very own rugby club of the future. Rugby is the national
00:27sport of Wales, played and enjoyed by millions of supporters across the globe.
00:32But the home of Welsh rugby is the iconic ground of Principality Stadium in
00:38Cardiff and your journey starts here. As you embark on a virtual tour of the
00:43stadium within Minecraft, you will encounter NPCs, non-playing characters,
00:49who are only too eager to share fun facts and information with you. The
00:53information covers various aspects of rugby life. This will allow for the
00:58exploration of rugby life through different lenses and provide the
01:02opportunity for teachers to link to a range of areas of learning and
01:06experience. Local rugby clubs are often the beating heart of a community.
01:11Learners will be encouraged to think about aspects of inclusivity and how the
01:16Welsh Rugby Union, WRU, can broaden the appeal, ensuring that rugby and the
01:21rugby club can be inclusive and engaging to all ages and communities. The values
01:27of rugby can be used to provide everyone with a positive experience and
01:32contribute to the long-term health and well-being of society in Wales. Learners
01:38will need to consider their local community, research and explore the
01:42requirements of their local area to then start to develop a plan for a rugby club
01:46of the future for their locality. From the plan, a build will be undertaken in
01:51Minecraft Education Edition. This will culminate in a screen recording walk
01:56through of their club of the future. This will provide learners with an
02:00opportunity to explain the various nuances of their club of the future
02:05beyond the physical build in the Minecraft world. WRU believe that there
02:11is a jersey for all in Wales and we need your help in planning and building the
02:15future. For more information, teachers can access the Microsoft team for the
