00:00Well, then we have here the architect Jermis Peña and Julián Gil, two faces already known
00:11by the public of People en Español, especially Julián, obviously, but Jermis, last year
00:17we have been talking several times, and well, let's start with this news that you published,
00:22Julián, on September 27, if I'm not mistaken, you posted a video where you announced a very
00:28particular thing for the United States and part of the Caribbean, particularly I think
00:33Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, where you wanted to share with the public the key
00:39to success.
00:40So, my question for both of you is, what is this about?
00:44Look, first of all, thank you very much for the opportunity, many affection to the people
00:48of People who have always supported me, the key to success is an initiative that we created
00:54with Jermis to be able, in some way, through these talks, to carry a message of financial
01:01planning and tell people, especially Latinos, where, how and when to invest, right?
01:08We take this by the hand with what is Riviera Costeña, which is a project with which Jermis
01:13and Struger and El Mundo González have partnered for a development in Punta Cana specifically
01:21of 320 units and possible future projects, right?
01:26But the tour, as you said, we were already in Houston, we were in Puerto Rico, we were
01:31in the Dominican Republic and now we have landed here in New York for the tour on the
01:3527th, then we go to Boston and Conerigo and we are calling people, it is totally free,
01:41people only have to register and they are not only going to listen to me, well, telling
01:48through my business experience, how it has gone for me and how to manage my investments,
01:54but also from the point of view of Jermis in his experience as an architect and as
01:58the owner of Construger.
02:00That's right, with the key to success, what we do is share our experiences on the subject
02:05of investments, we know that the Latin American public is extremely hardworking, they are
02:11people who know how to get ahead, but financial education is definitely also something that
02:16is not seen much, it is not very common to see it in our homes, so we invite people
02:21to start educating their children from very early stages, to make smart investments,
02:27to not let themselves be paralyzed by fear and together we present this project of Rivera
02:33Costeña that was designed and conceived precisely for that first investment, to start making
02:40those assets that allow you to have passive income, so we are having a great time
02:45in each city, they are incredible experiences, we have had an extraordinary human warmth
02:51and an extraordinarily positive feedback and we want to continue changing lives with these
02:56talks.
02:57But what would you answer them?
02:59First of all, I do it because I am passionate, that is, in parallel to my career in the world
03:06of entertainment, for more than 30 years I have had businesses, as you say, restaurants,
03:13I have had discotheques, I have had gyms, production houses where I produce cinema,
03:20theater, television, clothing brand, I have taken out my own perfume, my business part
03:26has always been present, I have not made books, I have made agendas, I have done everything,
03:31but it is something that I am passionate about and I have always carried it in parallel, it is not that I have been
03:3630 years of artistic career and now I am going to open a little kiosk, no, that is, people always
03:41know me that the business part has been part of my life, it is not something that I get up
03:48and say, well, I want to get a business out of everything, sometimes I have to stop a little bit,
03:52what would I tell him, that if you can, I, as you said, and I have rarely said it, Mayra,
03:58I arrived illegally to the United States, very few people know, now, I do not say it many times
04:05because people say, he makes those stories so that, well, as to victimize, if not, now
04:10they told me, yes, you have to say the same, Don Francisco told me, no, the things that you have
04:14achieved, you have to say them and say them, because you become an example for, especially
04:19Latinos, right? I arrived illegally to this country, even here in New York, I worked in extreme conditions,
04:25I slept on the street, here in New York, I slept inside a truck with some cousins, that is, it was very,
04:31very, very hard for me, and I think the message is that you can, right? I tell in the talks,
04:39sometimes you want to dream very big, but you can start with something very small, that is, if you do,
04:45I love, for example, the one who sells hot dogs with his little cart, who walks with a basket
04:51full of empanadas or tacos, because it is his business, and entrepreneurship, I believe that it is part of the
04:57success of us Latinos here in the United States. That's right, and that's part of what Julian says
05:02in the talk, that really everyone at their point has that goal, but we have to reach that goal,
05:09and we have to start. You have to have a goal. You have to take the first step towards the plan that you have.
05:14And I think that also, Jermis, you may not have told it so much in detail, but I know that the world
05:20of architecture is a world that has been very closed for men, men are always talked about,
05:26for women it has been a slightly more difficult path, especially women who are
05:31working in a sustainable universe, right? So that seems incredible to me, that there are two
05:36people who know about that fight, who are in the fight, and I love that society that you have.
05:41I'm going to finish the interview by asking you, Julian, because it gave me a lot of curiosity,
05:46in one of the videos I see you with a helmet, with the plans in your hand, following Jermis here and there,
05:51and I say, if you offered him for his next artistic project, of course, a role as an engineer,
05:58architect, construction, would you do it? I already said, of course, I am prepared, it has been like a practice,
06:05we as actors always have to be absorbing and looking and learning from everything, right?
06:10I already had a project where I owned a construction company, two projects, and now Jermis put me in the world
06:19and Construger as partners, and it is something that I am passionate about, including one of the businesses that I have done
06:25in recent years, both in Miami and in Mexico, has been to buy properties, fix them and sell them,
06:30that is, it is not something new either, but I am happy, happy to be able to do what I am passionate about,
06:38I can make you a novela, I can build you an apartment. A fraction, as we say in Mexico.
06:45A complete, I say an apartment. It is a great, great project. Well guys, thank you very much for being here,
06:52what a pleasure, many congratulations on the project, and that it is already becoming a great reality.
06:59Thank you very much for being here in Spanish. Thank you, thank you Mayra. Many kisses.
07:04Watch out for people, we will be here on the 27th, this 27th we will be here in New York,
07:09the 28th in Boston and the 29th in Conerico, you can go through my social networks where you will see specifically the places and the work.
07:16The tour is still missing, so well, this is a good opportunity.
