00:00So Dan, look at the Formula One race in Brazil, Sao Paolo Grand Prix, I mean it was an amazing
00:08race with plenty of stories but we have to start with Max Verstappen, 17th place coming
00:14through in a win that he describes as the best of his career. I mean firstly that takes
00:19some doing to be such an amazing race winner and come away with what he's describing as
00:25the best of his career, so where do you put that and how much of a twist does that put
00:30to Lando Norris' hopes of winning the championship?
00:35Well they were already quite slim hopes to be honest, I mean they were hopes to be fair
00:41but they were slim and they've been dealt an almighty blow by that result to the state
00:47where they're now pretty unlikely to be honest. You've got to credit Verstappen, he did exactly
00:53what he needed to do in the most unlikely of circumstances given where he'd started.
00:58He was fortunate in the way the safety car landed for him when the pit stops came that
01:03Norris and Russell had stopped, he hadn't and I think it was Ocon and Gasly alongside
01:08and they hadn't, they all got out ahead and when the red flag came as well they could
01:14get through the safety car etc. So yeah they got lucky and they got fortunate with that
01:18because that's what you need in a scenario like this. Of course in a wet weather race
01:23anything can happen and pretty much everything did happen that could have happened in this
01:29Grand Prix at Interlagos but as I say credit has to go to Verstappen because even before
01:35he got fortunate with the safety car he was doing well coming up from 17th, he'd got a
01:39lot of overtaking done. So it's not great for Norris and to be honest whether he has
01:45any real chance now remains to be seen. Of course Las Vegas next in a couple of weeks
01:50time Norris will probably have to win that race and Verstappen will have to pick up minimal
01:54points to none at all to give him a chance going into the final race, final races in
02:01Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
02:03Yeah just on the McLaren team in general they've had a brilliant season to be top of the constructor
02:11standings, Ferrari as well, Red Bull dropping to third. Is it maybe sort of a bit of a change
02:18in tides in that sense you know they can really look back maybe not with an individual winner
02:23but as a team McLaren have been fantastic throughout?
02:27Yeah they certainly have, they've had the fastest car from about the halfway point of
02:30the season which is a testament to them for the upgrades they've brought and obviously
02:35the two drivers getting the most out of the car as well. So yes McLaren can be happy with
02:38the car they've produced and going into next season if they can create an evolution of
02:44that car that's still championship worthy and a championship contender and Landon Norris
02:49at Oscar Piazza might have a shot at it next year certainly but I think you've got to give
02:54credit to Max Verstappen for despite not having the fastest car still being at the top.
