00:00The first unilateral exercise of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,

00:05Ajax-Dagatpa or Dagat-Langit-Lupa,

00:08is being held in Marangkada.

00:12Aside from strengthening the defense of the country,

00:14information warfighting is also part of the exercise.

00:19Here is Patrick De Jesus' report.

00:24In the center of protecting our territory,

00:27the Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Exercise or Ajax-Dagatpa 2024

00:34started today.

00:35It is the unilateral exercise of the AFP

00:39and it is the 8th time it will be held this year.

00:43From the word Dagatpa,

00:45the exercises will be held in Dagat, Langit, and Lupa

00:49with 3,000 soldiers.

00:52It will last for two weeks in the areas of the Western and Northern Command.

00:58The people of the Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine National Police will also be here

01:03where the AFP reservists are also included.

01:07Information warfighting is also part of the exercise

01:11because strategic communications are important in a real scenario

01:15and fighting false information or fake news.

01:19It could turn the tide of the war.

01:23For example, in the current world of war,

01:28their information warfare is very strong.

01:32The same thing happened in the South China Sea and the West Philippine Sea.

01:37We already know that even though we are being bombed

01:42by the Chinese Coast Guard and the Chinese militia,

01:45the news is that sometimes we are the ones who bombed them.

01:51So we have to counter that.

01:52In the West Philippine Sea,

01:54Island Seashore, Amphibious Counter Landing, and Air Defense will be part of the exercise.

02:01The AFP is ready if the Chinese have anything to do.

02:06They have a front seat to the exercise.

02:09They will be watching.

02:11And we don't mind.

02:13This is not aimed at anybody.

02:15This is purposely conducted to improve our combat readiness

02:22and to guarantee that our joint forces are fully competent

02:29and proficient to carry out their mandate.

02:31Despite the deployment of most of the military assets

02:35for humanitarian assistance and disaster response

02:38to those affected by the typhoon,

02:40it will not affect the exercise.

02:43Meanwhile, the C-295 airplane of the Philippine Air Force is repairable.

02:49It experienced an emergency landing at Basco Airport in Batanes

02:53while carrying relief items.

02:55It was towed to the side of the airport

02:58so that the operation can continue

03:00and to be able to carry additional relief items,

03:03especially since the Marseille typhoon is preparing

03:06for a possible return to the north of Luzon.
