00:00I'm Bishop Sophie and I'm delighted that today it's been announced that I'm to serve as the
00:09next Bishop of Coventry. I'm currently the Bishop of Doncaster in the Diocese of Sheffield
00:14where I've served for nearly five years. I'm so looking forward to this unique diocese,
00:21the birthplace of Shakespeare, the home of rugby, with much rich heritage and particularly
00:29for innovation in industry and leading in education. I'm especially looking forward
00:36to getting to know the people of Coventry and Warwickshire. I've learnt much about the
00:40rich variety of ministries in both rural and urban contexts, both through traditional church
00:47and fresh expressions of church in all kinds of different communities. I'm really looking
00:53forward to getting to know you as you get to know me and as we travel together following
00:58the Lord Jesus. We will each seek to reach out in love as we try to make sure that each person
01:05knows themselves loved by God and precious to him. Of course, Coventry has a unique
01:11ministry of reconciliation for which it is known internationally and especially important in our
01:17fractured and broken world. So I'm really keen that the whole people of God should know themselves
01:23called, chosen and loved, sent for his purposes in the world.
01:27Please pray for me as I will pray for you as we look forward to the future together.
