Mexican families honor life and death on Day of the Dead in Oaxaca

In Oaxaca’s cemeteries, families gather at the graves of loved ones, who are believed to return each year starting November 1st. On the evening of October 31st, relatives light candles that cast a gentle glow over marigolds, offerings, and traditional foods arranged on graves and home altars.
