00:00Election conspiracy theorists are off to the races after an ABC station in Pennsylvania
00:04briefly showed what appeared to be vote counts during a Formula One race more than a week
00:09early.
00:10They're both off!
00:11Extraordinary!
00:12Take a look at this.
00:13WNEP-TV in Scranton put this ticker up during lap 65 of their broadcast of the Formula One
00:18Mexico Grand Prix on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
00:22You can see Kamala Harris with 52 percent of the votes statewide, and Donald Trump with
00:2647 percent, with 100 percent of votes counted.
00:29Somehow.
00:30So what gives?
00:31To some online, it's proof of behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing.
00:34A conspiracy to rig a Harris victory in Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth expected to be strongly responsible
00:38for swaying final electoral college numbers.
00:41Everything's gonna come down, I think, to Pennsylvania.
00:44Nationally, we are gonna be watching Pennsylvania like a hawk.
00:47Comments under screenshots of the supposed results include,
00:50"'The cheat is on!
00:51Stop the steal!'
00:52They're rubbing it in our faces.
00:54They leaked the script!" and
00:55"'ABC is cheating for the Democrat machine!'
00:58One poster on Axe is keeping a watchful eye, writing,
01:01"'If the same graphics pop up after November 5th, with the same percentages and the same
01:05vote count, it'll be extremely suspicious, and the media wonders why nobody trusts them.'"
01:10But WNEP says the numbers shouldn't have popped up at all, and it was all just a test.
01:14In a brief article on their site, a station spokesperson wrote,
01:17"'The numbers seen on the screen were randomly generated test results sent out to help news
01:21organizations make sure their equipment is working properly in advance of election night.
01:25The numbers were not reflective of any actual vote count.
01:29The broadcaster goes on to note that the swing state doesn't even allow mail-in ballots to
01:31be opened until the morning of Election Day, and votes aren't counted until polls close
01:35that evening.
01:36So how do the randomly generated numbers compare to what's actually happening on the ground?
01:40Real clear politics has Trump leading the polls in Pennsylvania by just 0.7 percent
01:45on average, as of the making of this video.
01:48Considering President Biden beat Trump in the battleground state by just 1.17 percent
01:52in 2020, it's easy to see why an error like this, which was on screen for what viewers
01:56say was several minutes, raised so many eyebrows on the right.
01:59But WNEP doesn't have the power to decide elections, of course, and a vast cabal of
02:03conspirators intent on arresting rightful control away from the public also being so
02:07sloppy that they accidentally leaked the rigged results via small-market local TV graphics
02:11beggars belief.
02:13But an inability to be disproven is one of the appeals of conspiracy theories, so expect
02:17plenty more as we head into Election Day.
