Authorities were due Friday to begin pumping out oil from a Chinese cargo ship that ran aground on Taiwan's north coast due to the effects of Super Typhoon Kong-rey. A preliminary inspection indicates no oil has leaked from the ship, which was carrying 247 metric tons of oil and 37 tons of diesel. Taiwan's coast guard rescued 17 crew members.
