Keeping much of the same vein as the classic Cosmo, this festive cocktail gets a boost from white cranberry juice and an aroma of fresh rosemary.

00:00Hey everyone, Cody and Camille of Muddling Memories here in the Delish Kitchen studios
00:05and we are very excited because it is holiday season right around the corner and what better
00:10way to say holiday than to make a white cranberry cosmo that's going to impress all your friends and
00:16family. We're taking an old school classic and giving it a new school twist. You're going to
00:20feel like Carrie Bradshaw at the end of this. So let us show you exactly how we build this drink.
00:25The first ingredient that we're going to use Cam is going to be vodka. Yes. Which is one of my
00:30favorite spirits and it's one and a half ounces. I'm actually going to pour you some if you don't
00:35mind. Oh I love that. Thank you so much. You're very welcome. I'll be a gentleman for you. There
00:39you go. So we're doing one and a half ounces of vodka and it's going to go directly into our
00:44shaker. This drink's going to be so delicious people are going to want two of them and so
00:47you're going to want to make sure it tastes exactly the same both times. You want consistency
00:50when building the drink. The next ingredient we're going to do is white cranberry juice which
00:55what's inside white cranberry juice? Nobody knows. Nobody knows. But it is delicious. It's
00:59tart. It's sweet. Kind of tastes like white grapes. Yeah. And that is also going to be one
01:03and a half ounces. So if you can pour some in your jigger. Here you are my dear. I will also
01:06thank you. I'll give you this. Very sweet of you. Let's drink. We're going to pour it directly
01:11inside of our shaker. Great. Next ingredient is going to be our sour or citrus. So we're going
01:18to do fresh lime for this one. I'm going to use my hands right here and I'm going to squeeze it
01:21directly inside. So we have vodka. We have our white cranberry. We have our lime and then we
01:27have one last ingredient which is our orange liqueur. And the orange liqueur is just going
01:31to give it this kind of like classic it's a classic ingredient in a regular Cosmo. So we're
01:35going to add it here in our white Cosmo and we're just going to do a little tiny bit a quarter of an
01:39ounce. Take some thank you. Yep. This also just makes it feel really festive and holiday feel.
01:46Yep. So the fun thing about adding ice and this is another bartender tip for you is we
01:51always add our ice at the very end. Why do we do that? Because if you add your ice into your shaker
01:56first as you add your liquid into your shaker it's going to rub on the ice and it's going to
02:01make the ice start to sweat and dilute. Your drink will be ruined before you even have a chance to
02:06take a sip. So we add all of our ingredients into a dry shaker first and then at the very end we
02:11add our ice to make sure we add the correct amount of dilution. So we have our strainer. It's going
02:16to go on top. We have our cap. It's going to go on top. Now we're going to shake. We like to say
02:20shakes are like snowflakes. Everybody has a different one. So we're going to show off our
02:24favorite shakes. You ready? Yeah let's do it. Now how do you know when your drink is ready? You're
02:31going to see this really beautiful frosted tin. I'm going to show you right here. I'm going to
02:35give it a little smiley face on mine. But once your tin is nice and frosted that's when your
02:40drink is ready to be strained out. Yes. Make sure you get every last drop of all the ingredients
02:45directly into your coupe glass. It's time to garnish the drink and I think we're going to
02:48keep it really festive for this one. We're going to take a rosemary sprig which is beautiful and
02:53also can be used for cooking. But this sprig is going to act as our skewer. So we're actually
02:57going to take this and we're going to skewer cranberries onto the skewer. So these cranberries
03:03have already been tossed in a simple syrup which is in equal parts one to one water and sugar.
03:07You're going to drop them in the simple syrup. You're going to let it rest for about an hour or
03:11two until they get nice and tacky and sticky. Yeah. So they're not super hot and you're going
03:15to stick them straight through your rosemary. So I'm going to give you. Yeah and make sure to shave
03:20a little bit of your rosemary down so that you take the ends of the leaves off the rosemary so
03:25that you have enough space to skewer this beautiful cranberry. Also add such a gorgeous pop of color
03:31to this white cocktail. We're actually going to roll them in some sugar so that they look like
03:37they've been snowed on. Snow covered. Yeah icy frosty. So once they're nice and covered now
03:43comes the fun part. We're going to actually add them directly to our drink. Look at this cocktail.
03:48One would think that you went to like an actual like craft cocktail bar and made this and you
03:54can make this right at home. Yeah. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Yeah I'm in my Carrie Bradshaw era right
04:00now. This is um this is everything you want. This brings me back to Sex and the City. This is like
04:04the Cosmo but jazzed up for the holidays. Yeah. It's clear but it's got that tartness that sweetness
04:09that you know from a Cosmo and the great thing about this too it can be batched for large groups.
04:14So if you're having friends or family over and you want to have something that's just like easy
04:18to serve make this in a batch and then when they come you can just add it all into a shaker give
04:22it a quick shake and you can make these garnishes ahead of time. Most of our garnishes add this like
04:26really amazing like nose to the cocktail and the rosemary totally does that. Yeah the aromatics
04:32are beautiful and it just looks really pretty as well. Happy holidays. Happy holidays.
