00:00This is how we made six different storage nooks in our self-converted van, starting with a spice
00:04rack in the kitchen, storage in the sliding door, similar storage in the back two doors,
00:08and then two arch phone nooks near the bed. We started with the one in the sliding door and
00:11essentially made what looked like a mini bird box and we were using leftover five and a half
00:15mil ply for all of these. It had a back piece, a front piece which was shorter, two sides and
00:19then a bottom, and the one for the sliding door fit straight in and we cladded around it. We then
00:22started to repeat the process for the two on the back doors. With these we cladded right up to the
00:27shorter piece on the front. This means that the nooks have some depth for storage but you can't
00:30actually see that. We then added some timber batten into our wardrobe wall area. This would act as
00:34support for the next two nooks and we actually used some three mil ply for this and heated it
00:38up using the kettle to make it even bendier. We created the arches and drilled those into place
00:43and again we started cladding all the way around them before adding in these little rods as a final
00:47touch. We like these ones so much we decided to recreate it as a spice rack in the kitchen area,
00:51so here's us just recreating the box again. For this we had to make sure we had some stud work
00:56in place to attach the box to else it would have been floating. Once it was in, you guessed it,
00:59we started cladding around it and that is how we've made the six different nooks. Now we have
01:03lots more storage in our van conversion. Let us know in the comments if you recreate any.
