00:00Hey guys, it's your girl Asas Iguodaro. Fashion in Nigeria.
00:03Guys, you are here, you feel the vibrance, you feel the energy, you see the colors, you see the amazement
00:10and the talent that we are in Nigeria.
00:13I do not have fashion icons. I like a lot of fashion designers, I get inspiration from a lot of them
00:19and I like my outfits to be comfortable, to be stylish and to just stand out.
00:24In Europe and the US and other western parts of the world, you know, fashion is a different way than it is here.
00:30I feel like here we just put a bunch of excess fabric together and fit like this resort style.
00:37And so my take on fashion is to kind of like blend the two worlds and use our fabric and different styles
00:42to make something unique.
00:43I'm partial to crop tops because I think that they are very stylish and they are very versatile.
00:50So definitely more crops. Crop shirts, crop tops, crop jackets, anything crops. Let's have it.
00:57I'm wearing Keljani Atelier which is my own brand from Liberia, West Africa.
01:01I'm wearing DNA by Iconic and Vanity. I'm wearing, the dress is called Tamee Dress.
01:07And wearing the color burgundy. I love burgundy. I think it's so elegant, I think it's so timeless.
01:13So I'm wearing Honor.ng and this is from Canbi. My hat's from Canbi.ng.
01:18My recent collection, I call it my 9th offering because it's the 9th collection I'm releasing.
01:22The title is Edo Odio. It means Edo is senior. And I drew my inspiration from my rich cultural heritage Edo State
01:29where I explored the color red and other colors like gold, green and white just to explore how rich our culture is.
01:39I'm wearing Royal Apparel. It's an ashoke outfit. And what inspired it was I actually went to my grandmother's room
01:47and I took all her old ashokes and I just reinvented them.
01:51And with a store like Royal Apparel, it made everything easier for me.
01:55Like I could just go and meet them and just revamp all my old ashokes.
01:58I'm wearing my name. Yes, I call it my name because when this piece was being made,
02:02I told my designer that I wanted something that speaks my own name. That's Es Zahabia, the king is here.
02:06So for the two days of launch, I said I'll just do my name, that's my heritage, my father's name, that's my personal name also.
02:13Es Zahabia, meaning royalty. I wanted something that is royal, something that speaks royalty.
02:17That's why my beard and my whole trousers and everything. Royalty.
02:19Today I'm looking forward to seeing Desiree by Iyama and Obire.
02:23Fuche, Kylenta, Jezo, Zariyama.
02:28I'm looking forward to seeing Rendall because the colors are just always so vibrant.
02:32They just always look so delicious on the skin. So I'm ready to see what they have to show off as.
02:36What has to go?
02:39Low-rise jeans.
02:41Cut-outs. Cut-outs has got to go.
02:45Crocs. Crocs. Crocs has to go.
02:47I think these big balloon dresses need to go. They're out now. Something more structured.
02:53Definitely skinny jeans. That era is over. That era is over. You need to free yourself.
02:59You need to be free. You need to have fun with your outfit.
03:03For models and designers in the industry, models and designers that are looking to do greater and bigger things,
03:09my advice to you is to remain consistent.
03:11No matter what happens, no matter what you're doing, people are watching you. Just keep going.
