00:00The Dainley House is set in the heart of Chapel Allerton. We have up to 22 beautifully decorated
00:09bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. We have a very spacious lounge and dining area
00:15which leads through to two conservatories. The conservatories overlook our award-winning
00:19gardens. Here at Dainley House we serve fresh home-style cooked fresh food daily from the
00:29menu. We're able to cater to a wide variety of different residents' dietary needs and
00:34preferences. The home is full of charm and character. It's a lovely small home which
00:43enables the staff to get to know residents on a personal level, providing really individualised
00:50care. When a resident comes to live at Dainley House we always enjoy learning about residents
00:56and getting to know a little bit about them, but we also enjoy being able to meet residents'
01:01families. Activities are tailored to residents' individual preferences and we try to incorporate
01:07activities that will promote independence and just promote their overall wellbeing.
01:13We have a puppy that comes to visit us on a daily basis and the residents really enjoy
01:19engaging with him. We like to take residents out for trips into the local community and
01:24trips out in our minibus. We also have really good links with the local primary school and
01:29local church and we like to try and get involved with the community as much as possible.
01:35My name's Caroline Coop and I'm the Trust Administrator here at Dainley House. I've
01:39worked here for about 18 months and I feel very privileged to work here. Dainley House
01:44is a charitable trust so we're not-for-profit, so everything that we earn through our fees,
01:50through any donations that we get, all gets put back into Dainley House. Everything that
01:56we do is for the betterment of Dainley, for our residents, to make a lovely, warm, welcoming
02:02home. And that's what I feel that Dainley House is. We're a home, we're a family,
02:09and that's why I do feel privileged to work here.
02:12It's a lovely place. There's so many things going on for the residents, day trips, activities,
02:25people coming in, remunitions. We're all great people. The management, we're all one team.
02:33It's home from home and that's from, coming from my point of view, it is home from home.
02:39My mum is a resident at Dainley House, Pat. She's been here a couple of months and it's
02:48a wonderful place, Dainley House. We really like it. Mum's happy here. I'm really happy
02:53with her being here. I know she's safe and well cared for. What we really like about
02:58it is it's small and it very much feels like a family environment. It's a lovely building
03:06and the gardens are stunning, which is really important to mum, having been a lifelong gardener.
03:12And the staff are always around. They're very warm and friendly, but very professional
03:17as well. And being in a residential home like this means, you know, mum's not sort of tied
03:24to home care times if she were living in a flat, having lost mobility. But here, you
03:30know, you can do what she wants, when she wants.
