Chris Miller and Phil Lord interview.
Transcript
00:00There are so many amazing ways that Across the Spider-Verse ties into Into the Spider-Verse.
00:07And they can't be coincidences, the way that certain things lay out.
00:10And I won't get into specifics, you know, I'll let people discover them for themselves.
00:13But I want to know how much of Across you guys knew when you were doing Into, and what's
00:18one thing that you wish you would put in the first film that might have helped the next
00:22two?
00:23Wow.
00:24There are a couple things.
00:25I mean, we, you know, there's the beat at the end of the first movie.
00:29Right.
00:30We had to do a bit of retconning.
00:31There's a little bit of retconning on that as far as, you know, he's older now.
00:35And it was, you know, in the first movie, it was still his younger design.
00:39We almost, I tried to talk Chris into going back into the first film and revising the
00:44final shot to make Miles look older.
00:48Oh, that's funny.
00:49And also, it's unclear in that final shot, it's Miles dropping into his bed.
00:54It's unclear whether he's in his dorm room, or in his parents house.
01:00And he, and we, it was his bed from the dorm room.
01:03So we had to kind of like, retcon it into the into his parents apartment.
01:10We also did a big redesign on Captain George Stacy, who appears very briefly in the first
01:14movie, but doesn't look like the way the character that's played by Shea Whigham is in this movie.
01:21Yeah, I would have given Dr. Jonathan Ohn a cool beard and hairstyle.
