00:00Today, I want to talk about my visit to Vientiane to take on the responsibility as the AIPA coordinator for 2025.
00:28It is a tradition to fulfill the responsibility.
00:35And of course, it is fulfilled with the resolutions that we have achieved in the session.
00:44These resolutions have been delivered by the host, Laos.
00:53All the resolutions have been well received by all the experts.
01:00As the host of 2025, it is a challenge for us to see, first of all, all the resolutions that have been approved.
01:21Second, how we can improve the relationship between the legislative and the executive.
01:32That is one of the big issues that has been discussed.
01:37That is, how the involvement between the legislative must be seen by the people.
01:45To function better.
01:47And how the role played by the executive gets more attention by the legislative, by the parliament.
02:06These two issues are very important.
02:11And of course, what has been demonstrated in Vientiane is a great performance.
02:22Not only in terms of administration, but also in terms of preparation.
02:30In the introduction of the 45th AIPA.
02:35And of course, as a country that will be a pioneer in the future.
02:44We are starting to work at this time.
02:50Because after this, we will call for meetings to prepare.
02:55And of course, we want to be a much better host than the previous host.
03:02Because the expectations of ASEAN members are very high.
03:10So, God willing, the General Assembly will take place in September next year.
03:20But other meetings will take place before that.
03:25And I think the preparations are underway.
03:30That's the first.
03:32The second is my visit to Vietnam.
03:37We have taken the attitude that if possible, we want to visit all neighboring countries.
03:46With ASEAN leaders.
03:48Before the meeting takes place in September next year.
03:54So, when we get a signal from Vietnam that they are ready to accept us as a respected entity.
04:06I have also been to Hanoi.
04:11And met with all the top leaders in the Vietnamese government.
04:19I have met with the head of the people's council.
04:25I also met with the General Secretary of his party.
04:30And I also met with the Prime Minister of Vietnam.
04:35So, in one visit, I covered all three.
04:39And alhamdulillah, the visit was very positive.
04:43And it can be said that they are also waiting for us to become chairman later.
04:53And other things are bilateral discussions.
04:59And there are many issues that are highlighted by Vietnam.
05:03And I have also informed the government executives.
05:09Issues that are of concern by the Vietnamese government.
05:14That must be seen by the Malaysian government.
05:18In the bilateral level, there are several issues that I think are quite positive.
05:25First, they want to see what Malaysia needs.
05:32What issues need support from Vietnam.
05:39Vietnam is ready to help.
05:42These include issues related to safety in South China Sea.
05:48The issue of drug trafficking.
05:53Which also came from the north of our waters.
05:57And also the Myanmar issue.
05:59Which has been going on for a long time.
06:03So, they said that if we need support, they will support us.
06:10Besides that, they also discussed how to work together in the field of development.
06:19Several important fields.
06:22Such as renewable energy.
06:25Food security is the same as we discussed.
06:29The exchange of students and university staff.
06:36They feel that they are ready to accept our academics.
06:41And they will also send their academics to our universities.
06:46The other issues are how we can increase trade.
06:54In the last quarter of this year, there has been a very positive growth between the two countries.
07:07And this must be maintained if we follow Vietnam.
07:11Just now you announced that the parliament will start operating on solar energy.
07:16Is it one of the matters that you will put forward during your visits to other countries?
07:21Yes, we are very proud to announce this.
07:25In fact, I mentioned this at the IPA in Vientiane.
07:31That we really walked the talk.
07:33We talked about renewable energy.
07:37And I said that since October 1, we have started using solar energy in this parliament.
07:50And we feel proud that we can implement it.
07:55And we invite other neighbours to follow in our footsteps.
08:00Because it is useless for us to pass various laws here.
08:05But we ourselves are not brave or able to implement what we have proposed.
08:14So, thank God, many people feel excited with our actions.
08:20That we are among the first countries, even in the world, not just in this area.
08:27That started using renewable energy for our energy.
08:35So, I am proud to say that we are able to do it.
