00:09Ginjie Festival or known in English as the 9th Emperor God's Festival
00:14has varied theories about its origin but the mostly believed one is that the 9th date of
00:18avoid eating meat and self-politicization is to honor the 9th Emperor God. However,
00:23this Chinese festival is only celebrated in some areas of China, mainly in Southeast Asia.
00:28In Thailand, it is believed that the grand celebration starts between 1827 to 1857 in
00:34Phuket as people practiced during the epidemic time hoping the situation to get better. It
00:40actually got better and that is why the tradition has continued to be widely observed to this day.
