00:00Let's update on the hearing of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on the war on drugs of the Duterte administration.
00:05We have live on the spot with Mav Gonzalez. Mav.
00:09Raffy, said the Senate Blue Ribbon Subcommittee Chairman Senator Coco Pimentel,
00:14this is the first time that those accused of war on drugs have answered their hearings.
00:19It's a matter of great public interest or the public has a high interest in how the Philippines will implement the war on drugs.
00:25It's even harder to say that all of those who died in the war on drugs fought.
00:29Senator Riza Monteveros also said that all of those who died in the war on drugs fought,
00:33especially the children who were at home in Oplan Tukhang for more than a year.
00:38In the hearing, Senator Bato de la Rosa, the PNP chief, was the first to implement the war on drugs.
00:43If he's not a senator, he will face the camera in the Quadcom, but they have an inter-parliamentary courtesy.
00:50Senator Monggo also reiterated that the former special assistant to the President refused to have a reward system in the campaign against drugs of the Duterte administration,
00:59whenever he doesn't hold the budget or finance matters, even if Duterte is still the mayor.
01:04It's sad that the former supporters of the war on drugs have returned.
01:08The hearing is still ongoing and the opening statement of former President Rodrigo Duterte was also finished.
01:13He said that he will not question his police officers because he will not offer an apology, no excuses.
01:21He said, I did what I had to do.
01:25It's not about killing the war on drugs, but to protect the innocent and fight against illegal drugs.
01:31Duterte promised that all legal responsibilities in the war on drugs, if the police did something,
01:37because of following his orders under the war on drugs, he will be responsible for all of them.
01:44That is the latest news here in the Senate.
01:47The hearing is still ongoing and the families of the victims of extrajudicial killings have spoken.
01:54Thank you very much, Ma'am Gonzalez.
