00:00Former Bolivian President Evo Morales denounces that he was the victim of an attempted arrest
00:05while traveling through the tropic region this Sunday. The incident occurred around
00:097 a.m. local time when Morales was on his way to a radio interview. It was then when
00:15the bullet's impacts compromised the safety of those who were in the moving vehicle.
00:20The van was shot 14 times. Several hit the front and rear windshields.
00:24The driver was wounded in the incident.
00:30In response to these events, the President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, condemned any violent
00:37practice in politics. Through his social network X, the Bolivian President said,
00:42the exercise of any violent practice in politics must be condemned and clarified.
00:48It is not with the search for dead people that problems are solved, nor with biased
00:52speculations. That is why, given the denunciation by former President Evo Morales of an alleged
00:58attempt on his life, I have ordered an immediate and thorough investigation to clarify this fact.
01:10On his side, the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, spoke out against the attempt on former
01:16President Evo Morales' life. All my solidarity to Evo Morales' fascism is on the rise in all
01:22Latin America. The right-wing not only uses legal tricks, but it also pursues
01:27usual strategies of assassinating those who think differently.
01:33Likewise, the head of state noted the decision of the right-wing to break off the democratic
01:38agreement endangers the legitimate decision of the popular vote. The time we are living through,
01:44as a result of the global multiple crisis of both the capital and humanity,
01:48thus we must take stances and firmly head for real and global democracy.
01:58In this context, the foreign minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, rejected the violent actions
02:02against Evo Morales through a post on his social networks. This way, Rodríguez stated,
02:07we rejected the attempted assassination of brother Evo Morales, former president of Bolivia,
02:12a cowardly aggression against peace and stability.
