00:00G'day, Adam here and we're about to start day 6 of Polypedal 2024.
00:07It's been a big challenge. The last two days have been massively hard for me
00:12and this man here has helped me get through.
00:14Polypedal's been going on since 98 and what I love about the Polypedal
00:18is it's designed a bunch of politicians to get around to the little communities and connect to communities
00:22and that's what we do around Warrnambool and the South West
00:25which is really important for veterans to connect to their communities.
00:28And this man, as a warm-up, decided to ride from Adelaide to the Gold Coast
00:33over 2,000km and he's already smashing everyone with the fundraising.
00:37He's raised over $10,000 so far and I can honestly say, hand on heart,
00:43I would not have got through it to where I am now without this man's support in CPAC.
00:49So what do you think, Kelvin, Ali, by the way?
00:52Well, thanks Adam, you're too kind really.
00:54Look, I've been part of Polypedal for now 18 years and it's been really one of the great experiences of my life.
01:02I love the cycling but we've raised money for some amazing causes over the years
01:10but I feel at the moment that Wandering Warriors is really probably the best
01:15and gives me the most pleasure in doing those extra things to raise extra money
01:21to support such a great cause.
01:23I'm the dad of a veteran who did three tours in Afghanistan
01:28so my heart, in fact my whole adult life, has been really spent feeling close to veterans.
01:33So, look, it's a great experience, a good opportunity to make lifelong friends,
01:37which has actually happened, and I'm just happy to be part of the group.
