Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has welcomed Serbia’s accession to the European Union, in a visit to Belgrade.
Tusk, who was previously President of the European Council, said the union ‘isn’t complete’ without Serbia as a member state.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic struck a cooler tone, claiming he’s a natural ‘skeptic’. But he nonetheless praised the ‘opening of new perspectives’ in discussions.
Serbia applied to join the EU in 2009, but continued tensions in Kosovo have repeatedly stalled negotiations.

00:24And you know how much I am a sceptic.
00:26More a sceptic than a realist.

00:31and some new hope
00:33that we can expect in the future.
00:38I wouldn't say acceleration,
