00:00Wednesday night's win will have been an interesting one to reflect on for Regis Lebris.
00:07Sunderland were under the cosh for large parts of the game against Luton, but demonstrated
00:11an ability to win despite these challenging circumstances.
00:15Lebris was then willing to offer his own tactical explanation of how his side adapted to the
00:20events on the pitch.
00:24We started in a 4-4-2 shape and we expected to press like that.
00:29After 15 minutes, 20 minutes, it was clear that this pressure wasn't efficient enough
00:37so it was easy for them to play this kind of direct play.
00:42So we changed the shape in a 5-4-1 with Dan Neal dropped into the centre-backs.
00:50And it wasn't so efficient during the 20 minutes after, but during the half-time we
01:03fixed the different problem and we shared the idea clearly with the players.
01:08And I think the second half was much better in that part of the game.
01:13And it was very important as well to play in behind against this kind of man-for-man
01:19Away from the performance, the win highlighted to many that Sunderland are a united club
01:25at present, something which Lebris was keen to discuss in terms of how it is helping them
01:30to progress in all departments.
01:36Discussing this kind of experience shows that they are linked, they want to win together
01:44because it's not only a tactical side, it's the power of the team.
01:50The way that everyone is fighting, their togetherness, they applied on the pitch really because it
01:59was a tough experience.
02:00So it's a good experience, but as I say always, it's only 11 games and now it's a new experience,
02:09it's so long, 35 to come.
02:13So the main idea is to build on these positive experiences.
02:22The season may only be in its early stages, but Sunderland have found different ways to
02:27win under Regis Lebris so far, which has seen them rise to the top of the table.
02:32Lebris made clear that his side still had a long way to go before the idea of promotion
02:36could be mentioned though, alluding that players, staff and supporters alike must all remain
02:41level-headed.
02:42The promotion, I think, should be around 90 points, 92, 88, I don't know, we have 25 at
02:54the minute, so you can assess the gap, it's so huge.
