00:00It's time for Pudge's Pals, and Anthony is here from the Salem Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire.
00:07Hi Anthony, how are ya?
00:08Good, how are you all?
00:09Thanks for being here this morning.
00:11And who did you bring with you, who Courtney is cuddling with, or was cuddling with just moments ago?
00:16We have our 8-year-old blind buddy, Chuck.
00:18Chuck!
00:19He is so sweet, I can't.
00:22He's a nice-looking dog, too.
00:23We gotta get Chuck. Chuck is making his way around.
00:26Probably wants one of Curtis' bagels.
00:28Stand up with him, Courtney.
00:30Hold him.
00:31What can you tell us about, so Chuck is 8-years-old?
00:34Chuck is 8-years-old.
00:35What breed is Chuck?
00:36He's a mixed pit bull breed.
00:38He has a little shepherd, a little pit bull in him.
00:42Chuck was actually adopted from us originally as a puppy, about 8-9 years ago.
00:47And unfortunately, his owner had some medical conditions in the last year, and was no longer able to care for him, and had to surrender him back to us.
00:57Chuck had some...
00:59What a cutie!
01:00He's a good-looking dog.
01:01I love the eyes.
01:02He's blind, but he is a happy-go-lucky little guy.
01:06Loves to be just around people, and likes to snuggle.
01:10Great kisses.
01:12Such good kisses.
01:14He's a great dog for someone who may not want to walk a lot with a dog.
01:19That's me.
01:20Because Chuck is like a 5-minute walk, and likes to take a break.
01:23I gotta get my dad to grab him.
01:27What kind of home would Chuck do best in, from your perspective?
01:32We think...
01:33Danielle has said that Chuck would be best in a home with probably...
01:37He'd be the only dog at this time in his life.
01:41Good with kids.
01:43Good with adults.
01:45But just no other animals in the home.
01:47Just because he gets a little nervous, because he can't sense what's going on too much.
01:51Good-looking dog.
01:52Nice brown brindle.
01:53And he does sense you, though.
01:56He comes right over.
01:58And it's amazing.
01:59If you give him a little while to navigate the room, he'll start walking around as if you wouldn't even know.
02:04Look at the tail wag.
02:05Such a happy pup.
02:06That's a dog who loves being around people, and is looking for love.
02:10Look at him.
02:11Look at that.
02:12Look at that tail go.
02:13Anthony, have you guys seen an uptick of dogs in your shelter?
02:20Has that been post-pandemic, or what do you think?
02:23Actually, 99% of the dogs that we have in our shelter are surrenders.
02:27We don't bring in puppies, or we don't bring in animals from the south.
02:31Just because we have such a high demand in the local area of people needing to surrender their animals.
02:36Again, pandemic was a big thing.
02:38But now you have a lot of financial issues as well with people.
02:41They're living in their homes.
02:43They're living in their cars.
02:45Dogs and cats, to be honest.
02:49It's tough.
02:50If one of our listeners wants to adopt Chucky, how would they do it?
02:54Yeah, you can visit our website at sarlnh.org.
03:00It's the acronym for Salem Animal Rescue League.
03:03You'll have our phone number there.
03:05You'll have our online applications there for our animals.
03:09Our website is kept up to date, so what you see on there is available.
03:13And it changes daily.
03:16Well, we're one for one.
03:18We had a pretty quick adoption with the first Pudge's pal.
03:21Yeah.
03:22I bet we can do the same for Chuck.
03:24I mean, if you're not right now, if you're not watching this show on Twitch or on YouTube, you're missing out on Chuck.
03:31Courtney, can you pick him up again?
03:33Yes.
03:34He's just the sweetest, most calm pup.
03:37I know.
03:38Look at him.
03:39Yep.
03:40Oh my gosh.
03:41Hi.
03:42Hi, Chuck.
03:43Go look at him with his little paws.
03:45Chuck's looking for some kisses.
03:48Oh, Chuck.
03:49Oh, all right.
03:51So, I'm so glad you guys brought him out.
03:55There he goes.
03:57Good boy.
03:58There you go.
03:59We're just so happy and honored that you guys are taking this step and doing this for not just us, but other shelters.
04:06And we respect and thank you, Chris, for doing Pudge's honor.
04:11Oh, thank you, Anthony.
04:12It's a great way to keep the best guy alive, so thank you.
04:16Thanks so much for bringing him down this morning.
04:18Thank you, guys.
04:19Good luck with everything.
04:20If we're able to find him a forever home, let us know as soon as possible.
04:22We will.
04:24All right.
04:25I know one of you is going to give Chuck a home.
04:27So sweet.
04:28Again, every week.
04:29I don't know.
04:30How do you say goodbye to them?
04:31It's so hard.
04:32By the time this is done, you're going to have 12 dogs.
04:35I know.
04:36You and Santo.
04:37I love him.
04:38All right, you guys.
04:39Thank you very much.
04:41That is the latest Pudge's Pal.
04:43If you are working at or associated with a rescue anywhere in New England, a shelter,
04:50rescue, and there's a dog that you think would make a great pet for one of our listeners,
04:55then let us know.
04:56You can do that on Instagram.
04:58Show Instagram.
04:59Greg Hill Show.
05:00W-E-E-I.
05:01Or reach out.
05:02Call us.
05:03Or whatever.
05:04Get a hold of us, because we would love to have that dog as a part of Pudge's Pals.
05:11What?
05:12It's just like dogs give you endless love without expecting anything in return, and
05:18it's unbelievable.
05:19I get the same thing from OnlyFans.
05:21Same kind of feeling from my favorite creators on OnlyFans.
05:26We're going to get you going.
05:27Courtney, you got to add to your family.
05:29Yeah, you could.
05:30Are you guys going to get another dog, or is that an ongoing discussion?
05:33It's an ongoing discussion, but we should have a human child before we get another dog.
05:39Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:40All right.
