First look at GlasGlow at Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens, with this year’s theme Trick or Treat

We visited GlasGlow, which is running under the theme Trick to Treat this year. A light trail in the Botanic Gardens.

00:00Here we are on the preview night of Glasgow Trick or Treat where 10 doors have opened,

00:05five to trick, five to treat and it's now Scotland's or the UK's largest Halloween event

00:11right here in our fair city of Glasgow. Every single year we come up with a different theme

00:15and a different idea and a different concept to bring the gardens to life and this year we've

00:20fully embraced Halloween. I think it's about time that's the origin story of how Glasgow came about

00:26so it's loads of fun, it takes us a year working with a whole team to bring it together so today

00:31there'll be 150 crew members and production team making all of Glasgow happen. We've got 10 whirls

00:37like I said, I'll give you a sneak peek of some of them. So we've got our first ever proper scary

00:43whirl called Clown Town which is might scare the heck out of some people going through it,

00:48depends if you have a phobia of clowns or not. We have Boneyard which is we brought to life

00:54our very own Glasgow cemetery. You're going to find some ghosts of Christmas past in there,

01:00a few things like the unknown is lurking around in that area which is quite a lot of fun

01:05and we've always bring back Marshmallowland. So those are three of the worlds, there's seven more

01:09for you to discover. The reason why we put on Glasgow is we're just about to go when the

01:14clocks turn back and we go into a city of darkness for five months so if you're looking for an epic

01:21experience which is going to quite literally light up your life, whether it's your own date

01:26night or a group of friends or a family, Glasgow is going to give you that and this was my response

01:32to wanting to live in a city that comes to life and light in those dark months and Halloween's

01:37always that really exciting time of year when the clocks change and things get a little bit spooky

01:41so that's really the inspiration. Every great city in the world has a great light show and a light

01:46trail. Glasgow is really unique, it's a light trail with a proper Glasgow edge to it, a proper story

01:53and a bit more banter to it than most other light trails so we put a huge amount of detail

01:58and thought into this across the whole team so I hope you come along and check it out.
