Latinos make up around 15% of the eligible voters in the United States and could possibly play a key role in swing states. Though Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are trying to win them over, some don't want to be seen as a voting demographic.

00:29So at that point, that's not an immigration attorney, that's just a coyote with a title.
00:35With her clients and in her law firm office, the attorney also openly supports her candidate.
00:41However, Mayra rejects categorizing voters based on their backgrounds.
00:47As a lawyer, she believes that one factor is truly decisive.
00:53There is no Latino vote, there is Americans vote.
00:58And that's this American melting pot, there are Latinos that are voting, there are blacks
01:03that are voting, women that are voting.
01:05There is no vote that has to be put in some sort of a box.
01:10On the other side of the country, close to San Francisco, lives Amelia Secha.
01:15She left Mexico with her family 50 years ago to start a new life in the U.S.
01:20From vineyard workers to winery owners, the Secha family accomplished what many immigrant
01:26farm workers are unable to, despite their hard work.
01:29That's why inflation, living costs or health care are important for many Latinos.
01:35Despite political divisions, Amelia shares Mayra's view, voting isn't about heritage.
01:40We all want the same thing for our families, that they're safe, they're sheltered, they
01:45have food and access to an education.
01:50All of us universally want the same thing.
01:55Once a year, during Hispanic Heritage Month, the Secha family organizes a wine fest to
02:00celebrate their culture and share it with others.
02:04I'm Mexican, but I feel at home in my adopted country.
02:10And I've embraced everything that is really wonderful about both cultures.
