00:25Although the province did not directly feel the impact of Hurricane Christine,

00:30local officials and residents living in low-lying areas or barangays were quick to evacuate.

00:39According to the latest update from the provincial office of Ilocos Norte,

00:43more than 534 families or 1,607 individuals were affected or evacuated due to Hurricane Christine.

00:53Flooding and small landslides were also reported in some parts of Pagot-Put.

00:57However, it quickly subsided and the road was cleared.

01:0145 houses were also affected or partially damaged.

01:05However, no one was severely damaged due to the storm.

01:08Accordingly, in Ilocos Norte, more than P350,000 worth of rice and corn were destroyed due to Hurricane Christine.

01:16That's a smaller percentage compared to the previous storm.

01:20This is because the farmers were warned early that they should harvest rice before the storm hits.
