00:00In Casiguran, Aurora, even though it rained heavily, the residents of the evacuation center are still asking for help because aside from the rain not stopping, there is a threat of a new typhoon.
00:14From Aurora, we have the first news, Catrina Sol. Catrina.
00:19Ivana, we just experienced heavy rain earlier this afternoon here in Casiguran, Aurora.
00:31The heavy rain and strong gust of wind that we experienced here yesterday has now subsided.
00:38Compared to yesterday, the rain that fell earlier this afternoon has now subsided.
00:46But even though the rain has subsided here, several barangays are still asking for evacuees not to go home.
00:54This is one of the evacuation centers in Marikit Barangay here in Casiguran, Aurora.
00:59According to its barangay captain, Nesery Arbuena, the flood is not yet completely subsiding in the houses of some evacuees.
01:07Aside from this, there is another typhoon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:12That is why it is better to keep the evacuees in the evacuation centers for the time being.
01:19As for the places that were hit yesterday, the water level started to drop, just like in some of the roads here.
01:26Even so, according to J. Mar Deleon of Casiguran MDRRMO, based on their experience, even though there is no rain, the flood is still rising.
01:36After the heavy rain, they are flooded because of the water from the mountains that are coming down here.
01:43That is why it is better to make sure that the residents are safe and that there is no flood in their areas before going home.
01:52Here is the statement of the captain of Marikit Barangay.
01:57According to our MDRRMO, if they cannot return to their homes, it is better for them to stay here in our evacuation center.
02:07At the moment, the status of their homes is that the water is not yet subsiding.
02:14So it is better for them to stay here to be safe.
02:17Ivan, the floods in some of the roads yesterday are still rising. We saw that when we went around earlier.
02:26But here in Casiguran, it is still windy and the sky is still dark.
02:32Here is the latest from Casiguran Aurora. Ivan?
02:39Thank you very much, Katrina Son.
