00:00We are back here at PITX where almost 40 of our countrymen are stranded here because of the cancellation of their trips to different provinces, particularly in Batangas and Bicol Region.
00:19There are still a lot of roads that are not accessible so the buses are still not able to travel.
00:24In total, almost 100 trips were cancelled and because of the cancellation of the trips to Roro, there are a lot of trips to Matnog and Batangas Port.
00:40And regarding this situation here at PITX, we will talk to Colleen Calbasa, Senior Corporate Affairs Officer of PITX.
00:49Colleen, good morning. Welcome to Unang Balita.
00:53Good morning, Sir Evan.
00:59Ma'am, what is the latest situation? Maybe we have updated numbers?
01:06Aside from the stranded passengers, our stranded passengers account has been since October 22 and then yesterday.
01:16There are people who are just waiting at our terminal day and night because of our trips to Cavite.
01:26There are already a lot of people stranded in that area.
01:29However, this morning at 6 AM, our Cavitenese were able to travel back to their homes.
01:37Okay. But there are still cancelled trips, Ma'am, particularly here in Bicol Region.
01:47And of course, our Roro vessels are still not able to travel so the buses are still not able to travel there.
01:54We are expecting that until the ban on sea travels is lifted, we are expecting that our travels to the provinces will still be cancelled.
02:07Right. Ma'am, in the situation of our stranded passengers, what services will PITX provide to them?
02:16Do we have facilities to alleviate their discomfort and inconvenience during their travels?
02:26Ever since they stayed at our terminal, we provided dinner to them to alleviate their discomfort.
02:35To alleviate their waiting at our terminal.
02:38Aside from that, free Wi-Fi and of course, a convenient place at our terminal so that they won't feel uncomfortable.
02:55Ma'am, for those who cancelled their trip, if they have tickets, how will the coordination be?
03:01They would have to go to the bus company. Will there be a rebooking or refund? How will it be?
03:11If they are waiting at our terminal, we will ensure that they will be able to travel once their travel resumes.
03:20For others who have not been able to contact their bus operators, if there is an advance booking, we can call them as soon as possible
03:33so that they can be rebooked immediately. At the same time, our other stranded passengers can walk-in.
03:41Until they are not able to walk-in, they can be rebooked.
03:45We have a companion so that they can be rebooked as soon as possible.
03:52Do we have the first information on what time the trips will be resumed? Especially for the land trips to Bicol and Batangas that have been cancelled?
04:06We are also waiting for the Philippine Port Authority until our sea travel resumes.
04:15Okay. Ms. Colleen, thank you for accepting our call this morning. Thank you. Take care.
04:29We are talking to Ms. Colleen Calvasa of Corporate Affairs of PITX.
