00:15Mel, just this afternoon, another landslide happened here in Celestial Village in Baguio City.

00:23You can see it here on my side.

00:26According to us, there is a construction that is being done here but the land was given away.

00:34That landslide is one of the concerns of the local government

00:39because of the almost non-stop rain this day.

00:47It's normal to see houses in Baguio City that are lying on the side of the mountain.

00:53Some in this village consider this area as a landslide prone area

00:57that is being closely monitored by the rain.

01:02This is one of the areas in Lower Quirino Hill.

01:05This landslide happened before the Christine Flood hit.

01:10They just put a trapal to protect the land.

01:14But because of the continuous rain, we noticed that there is a portion of the land that is being given away.

01:20The problem here is that there are still some houses on top of this.

01:26Our real problem here is soil erosion.

01:29Especially if the soil is saturated for a few days and then suddenly the heavy rain comes.

01:34It's a big problem.

01:36The residents of one house have already left.

01:38But the family of Mang Hilario, who lives next door, will not leave for now.

01:43The rain is not that heavy.

01:45If it's heavy, we will be forced to leave.

01:49Even the barangay hall is close to the landslide.

01:53There are no problems so far affecting the structural integrity of the building.

02:03The City Lagoon also removed the garbage so that the water will continue to flow and there will be no flood.

02:10They are also using sensors to monitor the level of water in the drains and the soil erosion.

02:20Based on the information we received, the house that is being built here is just next to a big vacation house that was also affected by the landslide.

02:33A small house was also hit by the landslide because this is a construction site.

02:40For now, they have covered this place with tiles so that the soil will not be too wet and it will not soften.

02:51Especially today, especially tomorrow morning, the rain is expected to continue.
