00:00You look very snatched. You look great.
00:02Thank you. I know you can't really see, but...
00:05I don't know. One way.
00:09I mean, I don't know. I'm feeling myself right now.
00:15Hello, Candy. How are you?
00:17Hey, what's up?
00:19You're good. You're good. You look good, that's for sure. How you feeling?
00:22Thank you. I'm feeling great.
00:24Well, amazing, amazing. As I said, you look fantastic.
00:27So, first and foremost, I wanted to ask you,
00:30what inspired you to want to kind of turn things around
00:33or maybe prioritize your wellness and taking care of your body?
00:37And in what way did Hydroxica help you with that?
00:40They helped me a lot.
00:43Okay, so, I guess I'm a foodie.
00:47So, my weight has been going up and down for years.
00:51It's just like, you know, I just really wanted to...
00:54I've been trying to lose weight, to be honest, for the last year and a half.
00:58Like, I had a goal in mind of where I wanted to get to,
01:01and I just kept getting further and further away from it,
01:04if that makes sense.
01:06And at the top of this year,
01:09when I no longer was planning to go back to housewives,
01:14I was like, okay, I need to get myself back together.
01:17But then it seemed like for a few months,
01:19I got too comfortable and then got even heavier.
01:23And I was like, okay, I can't do this anymore.
01:26I need to get myself together.
01:28Like, I want to start back, you know, having a regular workout routine.
01:32I want to slim down.
01:34Our group Xscape, we had our tour with SWB this summer.
01:37I was like, I need to slim down before the tour.
01:39I need to figure this out.
01:41And I had tried a few things that wasn't working for me.
01:46And Hydroxica, somebody had brought it up to me,
01:50was like, you should try Hydroxica.
01:52And they had introduced me to the team at Hydroxica.
01:55And so I was like, okay.
01:57Because honestly, I had tried Hydroxica when I was younger.
02:00That was like my go-to if I need to lose a quick five or 10 pounds, you know.
02:06But I hadn't used it in a while, you know.
02:09And so I was like, okay.
02:11And it worked.
02:13When I say it worked, it worked.
02:17I mean, I guess I'm not allowed to tell you.
02:20And I guess I could tell you guys how much I've lost now.
02:22I've lost like 31 pounds.
02:24Wow.
02:25Since May.
02:26Wow.
02:27Yes, since May.
02:29So at my birthday, I was like at my biggest weight.
02:33Okay.
02:34And honestly, I didn't realize how big I was.
02:39And it's so funny because I filmed Reasonable Doubt, which is on air right now.
02:45I filmed that at the beginning of May or like the end of May.
02:49And so the episodes are airing now that I'm on.
02:52So me and my husband was watching the other day.
02:55He was like, did you have on like some padding underneath?
03:00He told my friends this morning he thought I had a fat suit on.
03:05Because if you look at the episodes now, I knew I was a little heavier.
03:14But I didn't realize how much heavier it was.
03:17It's like now when I go back and look at it, it's crazy.
03:20And I know, like you said, you tried things in the past.
03:23We'll mention it.
03:24There's other means to bring about weight loss.
03:26And, you know, it wasn't really working for you.
03:28So what is it about Hydroxycut that seems to like make the difference?
03:32Well, okay.
03:34I also changed my mindset.
03:36Gotcha.
03:37You know.
03:38Okay.
03:39So, you know, I'm not going to name all the other products that I tried.
03:41But obviously I tried the other trendy products that other people are doing right now trying to lose weight.
03:45And it wasn't working for me.
03:47It works for a lot of people.
03:49But for whatever reason, it wasn't working with my system.
03:52Yeah.
03:53Okay.
03:54And I just thought that like everybody else, I was just going to try that and I was going to lose the weight.
04:00But because I guess I didn't change my mindset, it wasn't working.
04:03And I wasn't losing or anything.
04:05I was actually gaining.
04:08So when I decided to take the Hydroxycut challenge, I remember Kenya had did it a few years back.
04:17And she had got really, really slim when she did it.
04:19So she was like, okay, if you're going to do it, you know, you need to, you know, make sure you watch your eating.
04:26You should work out.
04:27You know, she gave me all these tips.
04:29Yeah.
04:30And I was just super motivated.
04:32So I was like, I'm not going to cheat.
04:35I'm going to stick to the taking it twice a day.
04:39I'm going to change my eating habits.
04:42I stopped doing desserts and sodas and all those other things because I knew I was about to go on tour.
04:49And when you go on tour, it's even worse.
04:51You know, they have the crafty table every day.
04:54They got dessert tables.
04:55Every city we go to is like catering.
04:59You know, you got all these different things that you get, you know, eat and just throw you off course.
05:06So I had to really stay focused.
05:08And honestly, it was a really hard time to do that when it was so much food around me, you know, but I was just super motivated.
05:19I was tired of being big.
05:21I literally saw somebody post something negative about our outfits.
05:29And it was like, why do they always look stuffed?
05:35I was like, oh, no, you are not going to tell me I look stuffed in an outfit ever again.
05:42Like, I'm done.
05:44So I had.
05:47It's so funny.
05:48Two years ago, my friend, she was trying to motivate me to, like, stick to something.
05:53Yeah.
05:54And she was like, what was the weight that you were at before you did Housewives?
06:01And I was like, I was like 130 something.
06:03She was like, well, write 130 on, you know, on a piece of paper and stick it on your mirror and look at it every day.
06:11She said that was supposed to help motivate me.
06:13Apparently it did.
06:14But here I am now.
06:17And after doing the challenge, I got to 139.
06:21Well, actually, I got to like 137.
06:23Excuse me.
06:24Sorry, I got to 137 point something.
06:28And that's the first time that I've been that weight since the first the first year I was on Housewives.
06:37And I was on there for 15 years.
06:42So if you can just imagine for me, it was this has been a life changing experience.
06:52Yeah.
06:53You know, I never you know, I just never knew I needed it as much as I did until I did it.
07:01And now because I think we kind of as women, you know, we get kind of settled in the fact of, oh, I'm getting older.
07:07You know, it's just supposed to, you know, you supposed to, you know, gain a few pounds as you get older.
07:14You know, that whole thing.
07:16So I think I kind of was falling into that mindset.
07:19Yeah.
07:20When really that's not the case.
07:22My abs are coming back in like my arms.
07:27It's like everything is getting back to where my ideal look for myself is.
07:33Yeah.
07:34Like, OK, I was tripping all this time.
07:38I get you.
07:39I get you.
07:40And so how are you eating?
07:41Like, now that you are motivated in your mind, like, and you know, like, OK, when you're
07:45touring and they got all the craft tables and things like that, when you're filming
07:48projects, they have all of that as well.
07:50How are you?
07:51Like, are you bringing your own snacks?
07:53Are you like just eating things in moderation?
07:56What works for you?
07:57Right.
07:58So my snacks are really just like, you know, you do the almonds and the little cranberry mix.
08:03Yeah.
08:04Yeah.
08:05Like, that's like my my little snack.
08:07If I just need something in between a meal or something, I don't eat big breakfast anymore.
08:15Which breakfast is like my favorite thing.
08:17But that's because I like French toast, pancakes, you know, all that type of stuff.
08:21So I totally have cut back on that.
08:25I only eat like meat and vegetables.
08:27And there were like some weeks in there where I only did like vegetable or just salad and,
08:38you know, a protein or something like that.
08:40You know, I really kind of was I was very strict.
08:44I drank nothing but water most of those four months.
08:49It was a little bit over four months, maybe 17 weeks, I guess.
08:54But during that time, I drink only water, which I like soda.
08:59Normally, I like like, you know, I drink a lot of sodas, lemonade, you know, sweet stuff.
09:05So the thing that gave me my sweet craving that I could replace that with is Hydroxycut has these packs called Ultra Shred packs or whatever.
09:17And basically you just tear it open and you pour it in your bottle of water and you shake it up and you can drink it.
09:24But it has good flavoring to it.
09:27So one they have is an orange.
09:29The other one is kind of like I guess they say is a mojito flavor.
09:34I'm not a drinker, so I don't know if it's like mojito, but it tastes really good.
09:40And so that's that that kind of got rid of my craving to have a sweet drink.
09:47I usually like to do like take one and drink one of those around early lunchtime.
09:55Yeah. And then they'll get me through like most of the midday.
10:00Yeah. Yeah. And then I'll have like a good, you know, I don't know, fish and vegetable, whatever, whatever.
10:08And I'm good. You know, I take my second dose of Hydroxycut and then I'm fine.
10:13Like and I have energy. And the other thing about it is a lot of my friends ask me, you know, am I jittery or whatever?
10:22And no, because I do know the old formula back in the day, sometimes you would feel that way.
10:28But I guess they changed the formula.
10:30So now I'm more like as long as I, you know, follow the rules.
10:37So you supposed to like if I drink my Hydroxycut Ultra Shred, then as long as I eat something within like 45 minutes to an hour after,
10:49then, you know, I don't feel antsy or anything. I'm just chilling, you know.
10:56Cool. Cool. That's good to know for people who want to try Hydroxycut for sure.
11:00Yeah. Nice.
11:02And I have to also ask you now that you are done with, you know, Real Housewives of Atlanta and you're focused on your business, focused on your family.
11:11How is that? How is the time that you're getting to spend with your whole family now that you have more free time?
11:17It's been awesome to be honest with you.
11:21You know, making that type of decision is really like a life changing decision when you've been doing something for 15 years.
11:29I was at 14 seasons for that show and then I had all those other shows.
11:36So I was like, that's a major decision to say, OK, I'm going to take a break from this or step away from this or whatever.
11:45So at first I didn't know how I was going to feel about it.
11:48To be honest with you, I've been very busy still. Like, I don't know how I managed to be even more busy because I did a whole tour.
11:55And that was 30 shows, 30 dates across the country that we did, as well as, you know, I filmed Reasonable Doubt during since leaving.
12:07I, you know, now I'm a producer on Othello that's featuring, I mean, starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.
12:15So it's like, yeah, I'm not doing housewives, but I'm still busy.
12:22I don't know. It's kind of crazy. And and I have had a lot more time to have fun.
12:31So a lot of times, you know, I try to keep my weekends free to just do activities with the kids.
12:36I have had, you know, a few more vacations, you know, Disney World and, you know, all that stuff, you know.
12:45So we've been having a ball. Last night I took my son and my daughter, Blaze, Ace and Blaze.
12:51I took them to the studio because Ace, he's an actor, too.
12:54So he had a voiceover audition. I took him to the studio to record his voiceover audition and he ended up making a beat.
13:02And we was right. So, you know, I get to have fun like I'm really enjoying my life.
13:12My husband and I going out on more dates, you know, it's it's it's just more like.
13:20I guess it's not that I'm doing anything that I necessarily want and wouldn't have done before.
13:25But I don't have the pressure of being followed or, you know, somebody trying to make something negative out of what I'm doing.
13:34You know? Yeah. So it's been really cool, to be honest with you.
13:39Nice. And how are you parents? I want to ask you, how are you parenting Riley at this stage in her life?
13:43She's an adult. She's out of college. She's grown. What is that relationship like now?
13:49How do you like support her when she's a whole grown woman doing whatever she wants to do?
13:55She's stressing me out, OK? She's stressing me out more than any of our other kids.
14:02Riley is she just turned 22 in August.
14:06She's finished with college, but she wasn't ready to go ahead and start a job.
14:14I, you know, initially I always wanted her to go to law school.
14:17That's what we said at first when she first went to NYU.
14:20Now she's oh, I don't know if I want to go to law school.
14:23And I'm like, well, girl, you better figure out something because those bills in New York are high.
14:29OK, it's very expensive to take care of Riley.
14:32And she wants to hang out. She want to kick it. She want to do all this other kind of stuff.
14:37So her excuse to me was, well, I've never had a break.
14:43I've worked every summer because she always did either an internship or or go to school during the summers or both,
14:52you know, because she did finish within the four year span. She didn't take longer than that.
14:56So she uses that and hangs it over my head to say she deserves to have this time.
15:03What they call the gap year gap year.
15:06Yeah. Yeah. I know about a gap year. She can get a gap six months.
15:12A gap half year. How about that?
15:15But she's she you know, she's in the influencer world now, you know, doing all that.
15:22She's actually filming something right now.
15:26I can't announce anything that she's doing.
15:29She's she'll have to do that when it's time, but she's doing her.
15:34And she doesn't she doesn't always want to listen to her mother, you know.
15:41So she's living her best life.
15:44And as you get on my nerves because she doesn't even want to call me every day.
15:48And I'm like, look, you live in in New York.
15:50You got to at least text me and let me know you're alive.
15:56Well, she'll work on that. She'll work on that.
15:59And lastly, I wanted to ask you because you have an opportunity to see her and all the kids and all the family for the holiday season.
16:07I'm thinking I'm hoping. And so as the holiday season comes,
16:10we know that's the time to really divulge in like a lot of things, snacks and sweets and things that we like.
16:15So with your, you know, your work with Hydroxycut and how it's really changed you for the long term.
16:21Like what's the goals to like, you know, keep this weight loss and just keep eating healthy.
16:26And, you know, keep pushing forward in the way that you want.
16:30So that's what I've been trying to figure out now.
16:32So to be honest with you, I at this point, I'm still using Hydroxycut.
16:38They said it's, you know, fine to still, you know, continue to use it.
16:43Because at first I didn't know, like, how long is it like a time limit?
16:46So that's what I was asking them before. But they said, no, I could continue to use it.
16:52So I'm still using Hydroxycut until I figure out my flow of how to maintain my size.
16:59So I want to like right now, my husband and I, we starting to work out, you know, on a regular basis at the house.
17:06You know, so I want to continue to have like a regular workout.
17:10And then I wanted to like I'm planning on taking up like some type of fun activities so I can like stay active.
17:17Yeah, because I said next time I got to this next summer, got to see this body like it.
17:23And then like I didn't do it any justice working through the whole summer and then really, really doing my final.
17:31Like where I wanted to be in October, like we're in October.
17:36I mean, I need the summer to see this body.
17:39So I got to maintain this week, this weight all the way until next summer.
17:45You know what I mean? So I am determined to do that.
17:49So basically, I'm just kind of like I'll probably have like a cheat day.
17:54Maybe I'm still trying to figure it out because I realistically just did my weigh in a couple of weeks ago, a few weeks ago, two or three weeks ago, something like that.
18:10Yeah, so I'm still trying to figure out.
18:12Okay, now that I don't have to go so hard.
18:16Yeah, how can I maintain some? I'm finding my float right now.
18:21Yeah.
18:23All right.
18:24Well, work out great.
18:25And you like I said, you look fabulous.
18:27And I know you have a hard out now.
18:28So I'm going to let you go.
18:29But I really appreciate your time.
18:31And I'm I'm gonna have to try this Hydrax cap myself.
18:35But I always tell everybody, you know, you have to like stay focused.
18:42You have to stick to the routine because I was on average losing like two and a half pounds.
18:50And but then there were certain weeks that I didn't lose any pounds.
18:54Yeah. And I couldn't get discouraged.
18:56I just had to stick to it.
18:58You know? Yeah, for sure.
19:01Awesome.
19:02Thank you again, Andy, for all this insight when Hydrax cut and for sharing your journey.
19:07So I appreciate it.
19:10It was great talking to you.
19:11Yes, for sure.
