The two people who have died in the Benwell explosion on Violet Close, have been named and their families and friends have paid tribute as police continue to investigate.

00:09The blast destroyed six flats on Violet Close in Benwell, taking seven-year-old Archie York
00:14and 34-year-old Jason Lawes' lives.
00:17Mr Lawes was the brother of professional boxer Joseph Lawes, who trains in Benwell and is
00:22a well-known figure in the community.
00:24He said in a Facebook post that his brother was the best he could ask for and promised
00:28to be there for his children.
00:31Meanwhile, Archie's family described him as a loving boy with a cheeky grin on his face
00:35all the time.
00:37His school said he was a gorgeous, happy and much-loved little boy who would be sadly missed
00:41by us all.
00:42Bridgewater Primary School head teacher Sam Robson said support was available for those
00:46affected.
00:47The number of floral tributes have grown since the incident with hundreds paying tribute
00:51and many donating to a GoFundMe page set up by Archie's grandmother.
00:56The police have said they are committed to finding out what caused the explosion.
