Today we check out another Disney sitcom, but one I've never seen before. And it include a couple familiar faces.

00:00Well, it's the 2015 episode, and you know what that means!
00:03Disney Channel Monstober!
00:05That year, Disney Channel had an event where several of their sitcoms would cross over with each other,
00:10all centering on a haunted house.
00:12In 2020, I covered two of the episodes.
00:14First, the Girl Meets World episode where Austin and Allie cameoed,
00:18then later, the Best Friends Whenever episode where Riley and Lucas cameoed.
00:21I enjoyed both episodes, with the Best Friends Whenever one being one of the biggest surprises I got that month,
00:26so much so that I later binged the whole show.
00:29So now we're looking at another episode from that marathon,
00:32this one supposedly featuring characters from Best Friends Whenever.
00:35And that show is called Liv and Maddie.
00:40I have never seen the show.
00:41I know it stars Dove Cameron as both Liv and Maddie,
00:44and from what I get, they're twins who have opposite personalities.
00:47Liv being an actress who's more girly, and Maddie being a tomboy who likes sports.
00:52I... think the show is liked?
00:54Not as much as some other dizcoms, but let's see if I get as big a surprise as I did with Best Friends Whenever.

01:05We start with a man named Johnny Nimbus doing a special news story about the school,
01:08and it's about on par for most local news stories.
01:11Maddie tells him she doesn't get scared, and is hoping to scare her little brother, Parker.
01:15When I was little, she scared me into giving her all my Halloween candy.
01:19How'd she do that?
01:20Well, she said if I didn't, then I'd be haunted by a Scottish demon called...
01:24the Goomery Goo.
01:26Well, to be fair, the Scots are the scariest of Europe.
01:29Except maybe the Belgians.
01:31Well, the scariest thing I see is a lack of options at the snack table, oof!

02:07So, we cut to Central Park, New York, where Liv is there to promote her new show.
02:11Well, that's one way to get them from Wisconsin to New York.
02:14Also, we get these sidewipes to talking head segments, which I'm guessing is a style in the show.
02:19You may remember I bitched last year about a similar thing that they did in Geek Charming.
02:23But I will say that because this is better paced, it does work better here.
02:27She brought their brother Joey along, too.
02:29I go to the Central Park Spooktacular, and debut my greatest Halloween costume ever!

04:35I want someone to create a backstory for why this kid is afraid of balloon animals.
04:40They're also scared by that Scottish ghost, which I will say is actually legitimately terrifying.

05:32Back in New York, we finally see Sid and Shelby still dressed as Chainsaw Chelsea and Cuddlebunny.
05:37Someone scares Liv, leading to paparazzi getting a photo of her and Holden's arms.
05:42Liv, if you publish us that photo, Andy could see it.
05:46You know what? I'm done doing research. Just get the camera.
05:48Um, is there any way that you could delete that photo that you just took just because we don't want anybody to see it?

05:58I feel just explaining to Andy and the world would suffice, but again, I don't know.

06:05Is this taking place between the girls arriving via teleportation and entering the house to meet Riley and Lucas?
06:11Meanwhile, the parents are handing out prune pops. It goes about as well as you expect.

06:29Parker sets up a seance where they use a pencil to ask Johnny yes and no questions.

06:44It's the port-a-potty that squashed Nimbus!
06:47Okay, the haunted, moving, moldy port-a-potty did get a pretty big laugh for me.
06:51Back in New York, they have come up with some kind of plan.
06:54We can distract the photographer and delete the picture.
06:56And if we fail, we will accidentally hurt Andy and make an enemy out of a girl with a blowtorch.

07:21They start a flash mob set to the legally distinct for copyright thriller,
07:25and somehow I guess Riley and Lucas are still in that house just fucking around.
07:30They trick the paparazzi guy to put down his camera, and oh my god, that thing is creepy.
07:34Well, he deletes the photo, at least in this timeline.
07:37Remember, Sid and Shelby are going to travel back in time so they never are teleported,
07:41so I guess they will never arrive to distract him so Joey can delete it.
07:45Guess Andy will kill them.
07:47Back at the school, they're trapped by the haunted port-a-potty.

07:57Johnny leads them to their doom with Liv admitting she's scared.

09:12Okay, that took a weirdly fantastical turn at the end, but...
09:16Anyway, this episode was... good.
09:21I'll say it's probably my least favorite of the three spooktacular weekend episodes I've seen so far.
09:26It has some funny moments, but not nearly as much as the other two.
09:29The characters are fine, and the story kept my attention.
09:32Just wish it wasn't bogged down in three subplots.
09:35Halloween Factor's pretty good, though.
09:36We got handing out candy, spooky houses, pranking each other, dancing.
09:40And as a crossover, it's okay, but when you watch Sid and Shelby's haunted escape,
09:44it brings up a few too many questions.
09:47I'll give the episode a 7 and Halloween Factor an 8.
09:49I'm not gonna be rushing to watch the rest of the series like I did after Best Friends Whenever,
09:53but if I'm bored and want something new to watch, yeah, I could see giving a few more episodes a look.
