00:13Uterine cancer is a disease in where the cells of the uterus grow out of control.

00:17The most common type of uterine cancer is endometrial cancer.

00:21Now this is when the lining of the uterus inside called the endometrium have cells that

00:26grow out of control.

00:27The top misconception I would say is that there is a screening test for uterine cancer.

00:31There is no screening test for uterine cancer if you do not have any signs or symptoms.

00:37Now a PAP and HPV test are screening tests for cervical cancer and when you screen for

00:42cervical cancer you are not screening for uterine cancer.

00:47Anyone who has a uterus is at risk for uterine cancer.

00:50Now most women who are diagnosed with uterine cancer are diagnosed in the perimenopausal

00:54phase or the menopausal phase.

00:56So that shows that a risk factor for uterine cancer is going to be age and also family

01:01history.

01:02If you have any close family that has a history of uterine, ovarian or colon cancer or any

01:08other cancers this again can increase your risk for uterine cancer.

01:12There are many lifestyle changes that can help with decreasing your risk of uterine

01:16cancer.

01:17That includes maintaining a healthy weight and also maintaining exercise.

01:21These things will all help decrease your risk of uterine cancer.
