00:00Today we have recovered a body in connection with a search for missing 34-year-old Victoria Taylor.
00:06The Police Underwater Search Team made the discovery at 11.45am this morning in the River Derwins, close to where Victoria's belongings were recovered.
00:14Formal identification has yet to take place, however Victoria's family have been informed of this development and are understandably distressed by today's news.
00:23Our Specialist Family Liaison Officers will continue to support them.
00:28Victoria, who is from Norton near Malton, was reported missing on Tuesday 1st October.
00:33Since the initial report was received, we have carried out extensive searches to try to locate Victoria.
00:40The scale of investigation undertaken by North Yorkshire Police has provided us with a detailed understanding of Victoria's key movements within the time parameters of her disappearance.
00:51As part of our strategy, we issued multiple appeals to the public and the media for information.
00:58I would personally like to thank all of those members of the public who have responded and assisted us with our enquiries.
01:04The disappearance of Victoria has understandably had a wider impact on the local communities of both Malton and Norton.
01:12Those closest to Victoria have felt an enormous amount of heartache in the days after she went missing and have acknowledged how grateful they are for the overwhelming support from the local community.
01:23Whilst today's outcome is not what anyone would have wished for, Victoria's family have asked me to say that they are devastated and they would like some time and space to be able to process the news and grieve as a family and I would refer to remain with them at this time.
