00:00And at times, actually, I've been really scared about the information that people have given me.
00:07I felt quite alone.
00:09But I kind of stuck with it because of a knowledge of people like Jenny, labouring under our noses,
00:15and the organised criminal gangs who've infiltrated the island.
00:19And I stuck with it because I didn't like the idea of the profits of modern slavery in Asia
00:25sloshing through our financial systems.
00:28We've got some brilliant employers who took a chance on people who, at that stage,
00:34couldn't look up from their shoes and really interviewed poorly.
00:40Each of those people are in the jobs, the new jobs.
00:44They're being paid well.
00:46One of them started a painting and decorating apprenticeship at UCM in September.
00:52Somebody else has been, their family and their children have moved here with them.
00:57Another person has just passed their driving test.
01:00Twelve months on, they are here, and they're working hard,
01:04and they're becoming part of our community,
01:07and doing exactly what it is that they said they promised to do when they came.
01:12So they're the good news story out of it.
01:14They're different people to what they were twelve months ago.
