00:00The jail facility of BJMP in Digo City is now on a red alert.

00:04This is after a hostage-taking where two people were injured, including a child.

00:10PTV Davao's Jay Lagang is in the center of the news.

00:15A six-year-old child was injured after he was hostage-taken by three persons deprived of liberty or PDL.

00:23Inside the Bureau of Jailmanagement and Penology in Digo City, Davao del Sur yesterday, October 20, past 12 noon,

00:31two children were hostage-taken.

00:34One of them, who is only six years old, was injured.

00:39There was a family day celebration inside the BJMP compound yesterday.

00:43That's why the victims were there when they were taken by three persons deprived of liberty or PDL,

00:48namely Shelly Calaisalda, Jobert Masdai, and Dante Pindatan, both of whom were convicted.

00:56They brought the children inside the BJMP Mark Vehicle, which is also inside the compound.

01:01During the time they were brought inside, they were snatched.

01:04They were first put inside by improvised weapons.

01:11The authorities negotiated for more than two hours after the suspects gave their demands.

01:19And because the victims' safety was compromised by the hostage-takers,

01:24a strategic operation was immediately carried out.

01:26The Special Tactical Units were the result of the successful neutralization of the suspects.

01:32The BJMP, CIDG, and Digo City LGU Emergency Responders immediately responded.

01:40A member of the BJMP was also injured after responding to the so-called hostage-taking.

01:45According to Alyas Jenna, who was also inside the compound at that time,

01:51and she also had a visitor, she was very surprised by the commotion that took place.

01:56She was also scared because she thought that her son was the hostage

02:01because of the reaction of her relatives who were also inside.

02:05And she also personally met one of the hostages.

02:09And she couldn't believe that she could do it.

02:13My son was here.

02:15He said that the kids were fighting.

02:20At the moment, the whole jail facility is in a red alert status

02:24and the visit to the PDLs is not allowed until there is no more abuse.
