Crowds of well-wishers are gathering in the nation's capital - hoping to catch a glimpse of King Charles and Queen Camilla, as they continue their tour of Australia.

00:09Their first stop will be here at the War Memorial.

00:30Well, I'm wrapped to hopefully see the King and Queen.
00:33I've travelled up from Melbourne to see this Royal tour, unfortunately he's not coming
00:37to Melbourne due to his health.
00:39It will be a great opportunity to welcome the King to Australia and make sure he feels
00:43very much at home and welcomed.
00:44And have you seen any Royals before here in Australia?
00:47I did see Harry and Meghan when they came about six years ago, and was lucky to actually
00:52meet King Charles yesterday in Sydney, so hopefully I get to see him again.

01:03This is Hefner the alpaca, and look, he's met a few famous people over his time, so
01:06he's met the Governor-General, Tones and I, Jimmy Barnes, and we spend a lot of time in
01:10the community in Canberra, so we thought why not, we'll come and see royalty today.
01:15And it's been pretty popular with getting photos from people here in the line today.

01:21Yeah, well fingers crossed, we'll see how we go, but look, we've made a lot of people
01:25happy in the line up today, so job done for today.

01:29Yeah, so certainly a lot of people have already come out, ready to be let in here at the War
01:34Memorial.
01:36From the War Memorial, the Royals will be making their way over to Parliament House
01:40on the other side of Canberra.
01:43From there, there's a very tight and packed schedule in the afternoon.
01:47There's plans to go to Government House, as well as plans to attend the National Botanical
01:53Gardens.
01:54King Charles also has a visit to the CSIRO plan to talk to scientists who are researching
02:00the impact of bushfires, while Queen Camilla is also going to be meeting with some domestic
02:05violence advocates, as well as a charity organisation.
