00:00instructions already in the dressing room obey my commands at all times above all protect yourself
00:04at all times referee kevin parker with those final instructions so 12 rounds or fewer for
00:11the british in commonwealth like heavyweight titles van aziz can win that longsdale belt
00:17outright to do that you need to win four british title fights
00:22one has to be a mandatory defense they don't have to be consecutive
00:27and aziz is one victory away after winning that vacant title against hosea burton a mandatory
00:35defense against jack and fitters a voluntary against rocky fielding he then lost it to
00:40joshua guazzi but if he can win tonight then he gets that set edmondson isn't concerned
00:49about any of that as we were saying on the ring walk his opportunity has come
00:57boxing life can be all about timing and he feels that the time is right now to switching orthodox
01:05to southpaw early on here edmondson aziz has actually picked up some amazing southpaw start
01:12firing in recent times he's been in with jaya potaya who spent a few weeks around the london
01:17gyms ahead of his world title defense last week
01:29so
01:44just short with the jab there aziz edmondson goes back to orthodox
01:50throws a lead left hand good job there from aziz did get through edmondson just switching
01:55stances pretty regularly here so far steps in behind the left hand there
02:05i think aziz wants to get close to edmonton exert the pressure force the tempo you know really take
02:13edmondson out of his comfort zone not giving room or time to be tricky
02:26no longer
02:35buddy mcgirt leading that corner bowers he knows well he spent a lot of time
02:40training down at the peacock when he was boxing under brian o'shaughnessy
02:55final 30 seconds of round one a feeling out round it's aziz who's
03:02been trying to make the action edmonton hasn't done too much so far
03:26body
03:49and don't chase him you just cut him off what we was doing in the gym
03:52you know when you go south
04:12okay
04:23oh
04:30into the second jacob mcmillan leading that corner for louis edmondson nine and oh
04:35and his fairly young pro career up until this point they did meet in the amateurs these two
04:39edmonton one on that occasion neither one of them really setting any store by that it was a long time
04:45ago
05:02nothing in the first round at all i have had to score in a draw
05:06so
05:22he's able to switch his fluidly and he don't get caught halfway through that sort of sidestep as
05:30the feet came together there they come they end up going square before they end up in
05:35in the opposite stance
05:53as you say he is comfortable in either one and he doesn't take any
05:57risks when he changes the feet he's not likely to get caught mid switch although
06:03he did switch mid combination just now but really committed to it eric timor in the corner between
06:13rounds telling aziz to go to the straight right hands the body when he goes south for and
06:18and i'll make him right that's that's what he should do coming double jab
06:22right hand into the chest
06:40just square for a second there edmondson he sort of thinks interesting and then again
06:46just comes in behind that wall to land it and grabs hold of his knees
07:00final 30 seconds of round two one of his easiest strengths has been that his jab travels further
07:07than people generally reckon it will he can tend to explode into it punch up with it he's finding
07:15it difficult to close that gap on edmondson at the moment you know i think edmonton switching
07:20south for orthodox kind of slowing the pace down which doesn't really suit aziz he likes to fight
07:25in a good rhythm or you know a faster pace than this
07:34boxing on sky sports brought to you by volterral
07:38i'm just going for a break
07:44i want to break free oh hey just a minute i'm just going for a break
07:55but life still goes on have a break have a kit kat have a ghost of us
07:59stay
08:04ghostbusters frozen empire available friday on sky cinema
08:12bring it over the top all right when the time is right
08:22this is a big step up he's always felt that he's ready for it he's felt he's been ready for it for
08:28a while but it's just his 10th professional fight he's never been deeper than eight rounds and with
08:36that in mind the ability to control the pace here and try and dictate that particular term might be
08:43particularly important because aziz has been down the stretch a good few times as you say matt he
08:49likes to be busy he likes to build up that rhythm he likes to bring a decent pace to the fight and
08:56it will suit edmondson very much if he could prevent him from doing that exactly you know
09:01even though the slower the slower pace would actually make disease tired quicker because
09:06he's not in a rhythm where edmondson likes to think likes to really set his shots up and
09:12obviously not being past eight rounds as well will prefer the slower pace
09:18so i think it's important here that aziz keeps the pressure on and keep the faints
09:22keep pushing in with that front foot
09:31again just steps in behind that rear hand there edmondson he's done that a few times
09:35whether it's out of the orthodox stance or the southpaw stance he's looking to throw it george
09:39and then really move on to the shoulder it makes it hard to counter yeah you lose a lot of power
09:44when you when you cross your legs as you punch you know if you land it on the button the sweet
09:51spot then you might have an effect but nine times out of ten if you've lost your feet
09:56as you're punching you lose your power as well and also it's tending to get tangled up with
10:03danisys so it's it's one punch and and then clinch or one punch and hold
10:12he's boxing smart off the back foot i mean that's that's better work from him
10:16let that aziz fall short and try and take advantage of that
10:27good job there from edmondson as he's trying to move that head all the way in
10:31and works around that front foot quite effectively there edmondson too there's the jab from aziz
10:36that's what he needs to see more of he's always been good at that bob and we explode that jab up
10:42and it's landed before the opponent really knows what's happened
10:45yeah landed another one there as well couldn't really see because it was short
10:52heads almost cracked together when they came together about 10-15 seconds ago they both
10:56stepped in and went to open out
11:02oh
11:23there's that job again from aziz
11:26you can find a rhythm with that and that'll be a good thing for it let's go down ringside to
11:30he's with callum simpson callum you got the british and commonwealth titles yourself and
11:35you've made no secret that light heavyweight one day not too distant future who knows what are you
11:40making in this fight so far um i don't have much in it to be honest i probably have louis winning
11:45it within a minute but there's not too much going on but i think as the fight starts to warm up i
11:49think we'll see a probably a bit more action later rounds before the fight started who were you
11:53picking i'm not going to say because i like both lines but the both the both top kids and i just
11:58said it may the best man when i said michigan ball saying good luck to you both and may the
12:02best man win you recovered from saudi yet but i think the first i got back i slept for 12 and a
12:07half hours the late more than the late nights when it was no good for me but yeah i'm just
12:13about just about recovered and you look well good to see you thank you mate good to see you as well
12:19and there's a jab of disease and he landed a couple of times towards the end of that previous
12:24rounds which will be a good sign for him he's a bit of a promoter's dream calum simpson he
12:30sells loads of tickets and he comes to every single show sat in the front row
12:35always keeps out of the chat
12:42i didn't want to say diplomatic
12:47so into the fourth and as he said not too much has happened in those opening three rounds but
12:52they will have to be scored by the judges they could be very important come the final analysis
13:04look at the overhand right there disease absolutely clean but just signs towards the end of that
13:10previous round that he might be beginning to close that distance a little bit more effectively and
13:16lock on to some kind of range
13:27that's good though from edmonton he lands the one two
13:31then the job comes back from his eat and the five is just starting to warm up a little bit
13:46so
13:52he'd become the 10th fighter to win a british light heavyweight title outright disease if he
13:58manages to do it we haven't had one for 30 years crawford ashley
14:01was the last one in 1994 since then the criteria changed from leading three wins to four
14:08Dennis Andrews, Randolph Turpin, fighters back in the day who've claimed that long-sail belt
14:15outright at 175 pounds so esteemed company as he lands a right and then Edmonton steps in and lands his own
14:37so
14:57it's the final 30 seconds of round four disease again just looking for the jab and then rolls off
15:02or dips up to his right hand side
15:08so
15:22steals a half a yard then springs up with it
15:26super danisies nicknamed after super mario who would pop out from the low left hand position
15:32with an upwards jab
15:49and that jab actually might have been enough to take the last couple of rounds for him he's
15:54landed a few of those has not been much in these rounds are not easy to score i think through four
16:00two two possibly there's not much in the middle of the first round of drawer as well as i felt
16:08like there was no one to put a claim on it it was a feeding out round i couldn't split them
16:19final words there for martin bowers as we head into round five the british and commonwealth
16:27light heavyweight cycles on the line here
16:42it's a long conversation that but i couldn't really tell you what it was about because
16:47there hasn't been much going on in this fight up until this point that
16:50i've seen that the referee could really object to i wouldn't say
16:57oh and again edmondson throws out right hand and looks to move straight in behind it
17:05there's not been much punching in combination from either one of these two so far it's been
17:09on the whole singles and one twos good left to the body there for edmondson
17:18oh
17:25for a tall man edmondson doesn't really look to keep it
17:29on the outside he stands on the outside but then when he let his hands go he steps and leads off
17:35with the hook there then goes with the right hand to the body he shuts down that space when he's
17:40looking to get aggressive
17:47that was better from a good stiff jab and then
17:50stepped in behind the right hand it's still quite a stop start this has been like that from the
17:56beginning
18:03there's a lot more action this round both guys are going for it
18:06so again we don't know what the referee said to the star but it's to our enjoyment
18:14good left hand there from edmondson
18:20i think edmondson's certainly more willing to take chances in this round
18:36so again just putting some heat on that right hand
18:43attempting to at least anyway slightly lost his balance as he threw it
18:50as he's remaining compact but
18:57hasn't really been able to get close enough to edmondson
19:00and yet to land much more than that jab most of the time
19:14and there's that right hand again from edmondson i think it just about got there
19:22they're definitely a better round from edmondson
19:24step back
19:29it's probably been the clearest round of the fight this actually i would say
19:40so
19:52we're into the final bend of the coral fan derby where racing lovers of the uk are in a
19:57spectacular contest and watch this he's shaking his phone like it's a pocket-sized maraca they're
20:03all getting rewards now he's shaking it she's shaking it they're all shaking it
20:07it play the free coral reward shaker to win guaranteed daily rewards and offers
20:32that was a good round from edmondson like the couple of solid right hands
20:38oh
20:40and martin bauer's telling dan aziz in that red corner that he let him back into it a little bit
20:46in that round i think they've been happy enough with what aziz have been doing up until that
20:51point although there have been plenty of close rounds i really don't know what this is about
21:00i think it was the exchange on the bell um well i hope it is edmondson through one maybe just
21:08just post ding and i'm assuming that's what the referee took exception to
21:16that's a good combination on the inside there from edmondson
21:27i think you must be right george because aziz gave edmondson
21:30a look at the end of that round as they walk towards their corners
21:40aziz can't afford to get reckless here and
21:43lunge in if he lunges in he's going to walk onto shots and that's exactly what happened there
21:48wasn't it because as he was looking like he was about to launch edmondson was just bit by bit
21:53taking his feet out before him
21:57nice jab from edmondson and then the right hand to the body and he continues to mix the stances
22:09it's such a finite balance for dan aziz because he does have to always
22:14cover a lot of ground to get into range and when it's a fraction too slow it's like he's
22:19lunging he is caught when it's just right that's when he has a success
22:26referee just turning edmondson to keep that one up the left hand was a little bit
22:29low just before that aziz had just skated in slid in with those feet and popped that jab up the middle
22:36a bit of blood coming out at the end of the nose there of edmondson
22:50and he'll be given time here dan aziz fighters generally don't take enough time in those
22:56situations they want to get back into the thick of it as quick as they can they don't want to show
23:01any kind of sign of weakness right hand there from aziz off the back of a right hand from edmondson
23:23you know this is the range and tempo where dan wants the fight
23:26he breaks the boxing style
23:31edmondson arrived at long range thinking fainting single shots where aziz wants it
23:38wants it flowing wants to be able to find a rhythm
23:45edmondson almost timing it with the right hand there as aziz came in
23:50as they're bent double aziz is working away to the body and a fight
23:56the back kind of distance you'd imagine will suit aziz a little bit more
24:03as we head up towards the halfway stage
24:20oh
24:24edmondson looking to step in and throw to the body
24:28just looking at edmondson as he heads back to the corner there
24:34i just wonder if he might be beginning to feel this a bit we're going into the second half he's
24:39not had many fights any really that have been super competitive they've been fights he's been
24:44supposed to win and he has won and he's done six rounds here the six most competitive rounds
24:50of his career probably there's another six to go so that could be difficult for him
24:59yeah another good jab there from aziz the jabs from the shot that's what's best for dan aziz
25:04yeah that was his best round but that round also when he sat on edmondson's chest he was
25:14able to bring the shots up through the middle around the side
25:20where he's gonna have success where he's gonna win this fight sure he has to cover distance to
25:24get into range with the jab but once he's inside doesn't want to get tied up doesn't want to tie
25:29up in front of him he wants to lay his hands so you have to eye catch an effective work
25:35good job there from aziz the first three rounds of this fight in particular were
25:39difficult to score so through six it could be pretty even aziz though will look to try and
25:44take over in the second half here i think he'll back himself to be able to do that
25:50well that's how you've got it at home it's inspired
25:53by a point drawn around in round three aziz with three edmondson with the other two
26:01aziz will have to back himself as i say just to
26:04increase that temperature edmondson will have to be able to live with it i'm not saying he can't
26:15nobody hasn't done it before where we know aziz has
26:23so
26:44left hand into the pit of the stomach and then stepped straight in behind it and got a hold of
26:48aziz and he pointed that out earlier on george that when you do that when you throw and then
26:54just move straightly behind it it does make it hard to counter but is it a bit frustrating
27:00to watch that he's not prepared to kind of maintain that distance of throwing combination a bit more
27:06that was a great round i'm sorry from dan aziz but started this round strong but then if he's
27:13feeding the pace a little bit obviously he's pressing it his mouth's open from time to time
27:26if he can back edmondson up onto the ropes
27:29you know just keep creeping forward keep creeping forward cutting off the ring
27:34edmondson then he's gonna fire you know you know he's gonna fire you know
27:38likely that he's gonna switch stances either to step back or step in
27:44so with a good right hand into the body but aziz is keeping the tempo high here
27:54final 30 seconds of the seventh
28:13and aziz as he hears the clapper there just backs off slightly as edmondson managed to
28:24evade his most recent attack let's go down ringside andy scott is with denzel bentley
28:29denzel i wonder how you're seeing it from your position uh felt like perhaps louis had a better
28:34start to the fight but are there signs that dan's getting a foothold now i mean the start of the
28:38fight was a bit cagey i don't think neither of them done any more than the other but certainly
28:43from like the third forefront onwards till now dan's picked up the pace and he's putting it on
28:46louis i think louis fading dan's getting a bit of him dan's just taking his time and looking for
28:50his shots you know dan the second half of the fight is where he does his work isn't it 100%
28:54that's his that's his field so i'm comfortable at this half of the fight i thought early only
28:58was going to do some things to make it awkward but second half of the fight it's all going to
29:01be dan so i'm comfortable right now if you were neutral what would your advice to louis edmondson
29:05be or is that an unfair question to you definitely unfair question still hey that's my business
29:09haha good to see it ringside nice one thanks
29:13denzel benley just shuts andy scott down there quite right to gym mate of dan disease these
29:20days denzel benley he trains at the brand spanking new not that new anymore peacock gym out in epping
29:28right next to where martin bowers lives it's a fantastic facility the cleanest gym
29:33i think i've ever been in
29:39nice left hand off the ropes there from edmondson things looks to reply with his own left
29:47there's that jump sort of jumping jab again out of the crouch
29:51um
30:03talking to try and step in the land that uppercut there edmondson
30:21look at that big single shot again there edmondson that one clattered into the gloves of disease
30:42as he's working away on the inside couldn't quite find room there
30:46scruffy around this one so far as we head up towards the midway point
30:51please
31:12as he's just holding the center for the most part edmondson moving around that out the
31:17clock face jab again there from aziz edmondson trying to
31:20just muscle him back into the corner and create enough space to let his own hands go
31:29hit with the left of the body there aziz was by edmondson after the referee had given the
31:34instruction to stop boxing and he's taking a point here kevin parker for what i assume
31:43he deems to be a deliberate late blow and the instruction did come you could hear it it was
31:48pretty clear and then he let that let go so i don't think you have too much choice there the referee
31:58and that's not good for louis edmondson a point deduction at any stage of a fight
32:03he's maybe beginning to chase this a bit or be in a position where he needs to
32:08to again the early rounds were difficult to score but aziz is looking to try and come on
32:15strong in the second half and edmondson just needs to do a bit more i think that really doesn't he
32:24yeah he's waiting a little bit too long now gotta let his hands go more you know aziz
32:31just bumping and weaving staying low and jumping up with that jab and he's
32:35maybe the pace is he's starting to feel it a little bit now so
32:39he's been out right eight rounds once before but it wasn't in a fight as competitive as this
32:46i mean sometimes it comes down to the shot selection especially from edmondson you're in
32:53there with a guy who's shorter than you and he's coming in in front of you so bring up the middle
32:57like bring it straight up the middle but he's trying to come around the side trying to come
33:00over the top it's not working for him he's got much more success he brings it up up for the
33:06middle may that be the first shot and then he can punch off of that yeah when you got a guy
33:10the guy dipping down low looking to crash up you want to try and you hope you want to walk him onto
33:14the uppercuts
33:31titles on the line down as he's looking to win that lonsdale belt outright with this win he'll
33:38join some story names if he can manage to do it the very first british light heavyweight title
33:43was won in 1921 by the legendary ted kidd lewis jewish east end fighter the all gates sphinx
33:53it's one of the original divisions and he does have a keen eye for boxing history as he's and
34:00it is a massive achievement to be able to win that belt for keeps and he'll feel that heading
34:07down the stretch that he is in control here he can't take anything for granted
34:14but he needs to keep that tempo high keep that work rate high
34:21i think this is where aziz should try and up the pace now especially as edmondson's never been here
34:31you don't want to go too soon and you don't want to leave it too late so i think you know
34:35there's that point in the fight where you can really try and turn the heat up on edmondson
34:40there's that uppercut edmondson encouraged that steps in and tries to let that right hand go i
34:46don't know how cleanly that uppercut landed as he's coming forward and throwing himself
35:03again edmondson just stepping in but the gloves are up there for a disease he's looking for these
35:07big singles edmondson as he has done throughout the fight and they're real effort punches
35:12when he throws it but as he's generally speaking could see them coming and get
35:18something on them to affect a block yeah i thought that left hook landed i'd like to see the replay
35:22so
35:41almost gonna land before that right hook there from
35:44edmondson heading into the final minute of round nine
35:53so again it's the kind of fight where there's not all that much in it at times a good one
35:59too there from edmondson there have been tricky rounds to score but the dynamic in
36:05a number of the rounds has been aziz on the front foot looking to try and make the fight
36:09often there hasn't been an awful lot landing clean from either one and in that situation
36:15if it's difficult to separate them on punches landed then the dynamic of it does play a part
36:23and edmondson at times has had the look of a man who's who's trying to pick down
36:26aziz's pocket really they're trying to nick the rounds that was a good shot from edmondson
36:35right uppercut he's landed some good punches in this round
36:53is
37:06yeah that was a good uppercut timed in nicely coming in
37:14so
37:19yep see it again there was that a different shot but again the uppercuts working
37:24yeah so there are two two examples of the uppercut working george was calling for them earlier
37:33it's fucking done no regrets
37:40well apologies for the language in the corner there but the message is clear no regrets
37:44and it's the right thing for jacob mcmillan to say because edmondson would have won that
37:48previous round i reckon but with three to go here he needs all of them you would say
37:54probably we don't know how it's being seen by the ringside judges but through 963 aziz
38:03seems fairly likely to me as a score could be five four drawn rounds could play a part in this
38:11fight more than they do normally because particularly early on there were some difficult ones to score
38:25and again looking for the uppercut and he is having joy with it george isn't he because
38:28aziz coming forward there just dipped crouched over slightly and he was there for it
38:33yeah he landed that he landed that well just before then he
38:35landed a really good left hook as well obviously in the overall stance
38:48i mean of course it's easier said than done but the key to success here for danis is just to be a
38:53bit sharp with the feet when you've got a chap in front of you who wants to continually switch
38:58dances if you're if you're a half step out of range of you know distance it only takes a half
39:04step to step in and catch him while they're out of position well like you did there george that
39:10quick shuffle of the feet you're under the straight right hand on the ropes then the uppercut
39:14then the body shot and that was all because of the quick feet that's it and that is where dan
39:18aziz had the most success in this fight is when he started to land and he's built upon it
39:23he's always been good at that
39:27and it was an act he doesn't break away clean and try and start again he tries to mix it with
39:32aziz when aziz is starting to land that was a good left hand into the body there from evanson
39:38and i wondered for a couple of seconds there whether aziz really felt that because he just
39:44dipped slightly and took a couple of steps back but he's since thrown a few shots i think he wore
39:50it okay but again he's had a couple of good flurries in this round as he's but edmondson has
39:56got home with some decent decent work referee just warning him about the left hand slipping
40:03a little bit low there and there are signs that edmondson could finish strong here i think you're
40:07right i don't think that body shot did hurt dan aziz but don't think edmondson realized
40:16and if he can finish this fight strong edmondson if he's paced this well
40:20then this could be very very interesting
40:31left hand into the pit of the stomach there from edmondson who at close range there lets his hands
40:35go and maybe late on here he is finding that method he's getting those feet just a little
40:40bit closer happy to hold them up close rather than start a way out throw that punch and move
40:46right in behind it let's go down to anna at ringside johnny how are you seeing this it seems
40:55to be dan seems to be coming to his own now he is but lewis has actually been really doing really
40:59well because he's been unorthodox and that's what you've got to be if you set a pattern for
41:03dan to work on that's when the rhythm rolls on so lewis is doing the right thing switching south
41:09portal orthodox not settling unfortunately the back end of a bike always suits dan dandriti
41:15because that's when he gets stronger when more fighters are getting a little tired a little
41:19raggedy and that's what's happened with edmondson a new territory for edmondson he hasn't been me
41:22on eight yet what do you need to see from him i just mean that he needs to start getting back
41:26into rhythm again start being unorthodox switching left the south portal orthodox
41:31working it that way using a jab just be make himself hard to read and it makes it hard for
41:38cheers johnny so into these championship rounds two to go
41:46it's edmonton you feel who is the one who has got it to do here particularly with that point
41:50deduction but if he can win these final two rounds then well you just never know if that
41:56really would tighten everything up and it is difficult to second guess judges at times
42:08oh
42:31either one of these two really willing to commit in this round so far
42:35quite cagey this deep in the fight
42:57and given that this is his first 12 rounder edmondson and he's not boxed
43:02in a fight like this in terms of how competitive it's been in his career so far this is commendable
43:10because it's a step into the unknown it's difficult to navigate your way through left
43:16hand into the body there from edmondson when do you put your foot down when do you not he probably
43:22would have felt in the middle rounds that maybe it was starting to slip away from him
43:26a bit but he didn't panic right hand comes through there from his ease
43:32oh you get the feeling doesn't need to force the pace a bit more here is ease he's capable of it
43:41i just think dan is ease it blows for him better when it's a faster pace when it slows down
43:53it's a good job from disease
43:54is
44:13referee just telling the pair of them to tidy it up and with a
44:17stern word for the corner as well not an awful lot has happened in this round to be honest
44:24yeah definitely still to play for in his last 20 seconds he finishes strong when nicked around
44:41trying to hook up the back foot there edmondson didn't really manage to land it and
44:46as the bell approaches this 11th it's difficult to pick between the two
44:57good job there from edmondson
45:16i'm a one man away
45:35put it on him put it on him and take him out
45:39fucking get him look breathe man it's with you now it's with you now come on
45:50well again apologies for the language there and you heard the advice from the corner
45:54the disease corner led by martin bowers feel that they're in control of this he just doesn't
46:00need to be reckless in this final round edmondson being told that he needs a stoppage and i make
46:06that right because with the way these rounds have been and with the point deduction you would say
46:13the diseases got that lead that he does need edmondson really needed to close this out very
46:21strong in the ninth tenth and the eleventh and at home you've given that 11th to aziz so he's got
46:29three point lead it's a fight that's never really caught fire
46:47edmondson trying to come back with the left hand
46:52uh
46:56does edmondson think that he's ahead now and this is the round
47:02to survive and look good as he's enjoying himself because this is his big moment it's so hard to
47:09tell it is hard to tell you heard what the corner said there too and they told him really that he
47:15needs to put it on his knees and have a big finish here maybe knockdowns that was the vibe i was
47:19getting from the corner there but edmondson as you say george the way he's going about this he
47:24he seems pretty confident
47:30but from where we're sitting aziz in enough of the rounds has done enough and he's got the
47:38point deduction in his favor as well but there have been a lot of close rounds particularly
47:46early in the fight but when rounds are close that that dynamic map of who's on the front foot and
47:54who's trying to make things happen who's taking the center of the ring that's really when that
47:58kind of thing comes into play more yeah exactly and uh i mean i've got fantasies the same as the
48:06viewers three up here going into the so i don't know i don't think that edmondson can uh win
48:11coasting on the back foot nice long right hand there from edmondson landed though
48:19but you're right george he is boxing like a man who feels like he's in front isn't he
48:23wasn't interested on trying to build on that right hand it was a good right hand as he took it
48:30but didn't have to worry about anything else coming back
48:32back
48:38so into the final stages it's going to go the full distance here
48:45and there's somebody can find something extraordinary in this final 10 there goes the
48:52clapper as he's looking to try and come forward with that right hand
48:56and i think we'll see both corners both fighters celebrate on the bell there goes the bell
49:05and that's exactly what we do get big celebrations from the edmondson
49:11corner and it's important you do that before these scoring slips are handed in for the final round
49:16it can just give the judges maybe something to think about before they have those final
49:22scores in martin bowers looks confident as these looks
49:26confident everyone looks confident don't they up in that ring i'm not confident
49:31um i'm not confident i think i think aziz has got it but some of them rounds were close
49:38it might even just come down to the point deduction well that's how you've got it at
49:45116 112 so he's quite clear with that point deduction it's hard to know those early rounds
49:56the viewers verdict gave aziz that last round but edmondson maybe he won it off the back foot
50:02he landed a couple of shots there a couple of eye-catching shots in that last
50:0630-40 seconds and there was very little in the 11th as well
50:15well let's have a look at some of that edmondson work in the final round
50:22that was the most eye-catching punch of the round that long right hand
50:29this was a massive step up for him tonight and he's managed to go
50:33the full 12 and he's done it with something in the tank i did wonder at halfway whether
50:37things will get sticky for him in the second half but he's managed to navigate his way through it
50:46and this is a nervous wait for the pair of them
50:53eric timo andre olli in the corner there with martin bowers they're a very tight team
51:04okay big moe is up in the ring our scoring judges ringside victor lockley mark lightson
51:11and bob williams the scores have been collated
51:18it's done as he's about to win this lonsdale belt outright or is louis edmondson
51:23going to get his hands on it for the very first time let's find out
51:29ladies and gentlemen after 12 full championship rounds we go to the judges scorecards at ringside
51:35judge victor laughlin sees it 114 to 114 judge bob williams sees it 114 to 113 and judge mark
51:47license sees it 115 to 112 declaring your winner by majority decision and the new british and
51:54commonwealth light heavyweight champion
52:04it was razor thin on the cards we were wondering towards the end there with how
52:10tight some of those rounds were which way it was going to go a lot of them were difficult to score
52:19particularly at the beginning of the fight and then at the end maybe the 11th and the 12th but
52:25edmondson has got it and he is absolutely overjoyed and that is some achievement from
52:31him he's been waiting for his opportunity
