00:00What's up guys, today I wanted to make a video about some phones that I don't talk about as much on the channel
00:06But these are phones that I don't want you guys to forget about, these are still very good picks to consider
00:12So I want to kick it off with the Asus Zenfone 9
00:15Now I know this phone was a little bit expensive when it came out, a lot of you guys were saying
00:18But the price has come down, it's come down to around $590
00:21Remember, this is a flagship phone guys, and it's a pretty decent deal
00:25You can find them even a little bit cheaper on eBay
00:28But this is an absolute beast of a phone
00:31Especially for anybody who wants a modern, compact flagship
00:35And I know it's not that compact, coming in at 5.9 inches
00:39But again, most phones are around 6.5, 6.8 inches
00:43So it is pretty compact for today's standards
00:46The design on here is absolutely beautiful, I really like it
00:49Even though it's got a plastic back, nothing about this phone feels cheap
00:53And I really like the texture of the plastic back
00:55It's got the aluminum frame, it's got IP68 dust and water resistant
00:59And like I said, it just feels really comfortable in the hand
01:02And like I said, much smaller than most phones these days
01:05Now the screen on here is pretty good, it's a Super AMOLED display
01:08120Hz HDR10+, 1100 nits peak brightness
01:13So very good for outdoors
01:15And it's 1080p, 445 for the PPI
01:18You got the punch hole, it's a very nice screen to look at for sure
01:21You've also got the Snapdragon 8Gen1 on here
01:24And it's an excellent chip, this is the 8Gen Plus chip as well too
01:29So very fast phone regardless, it'll be able to play any game
01:33And it's actually a relatively cool device
01:35I've never had any type of heating problems with this phone
01:38So just very fast, you can play games on here
01:41You can pretty much do whatever you want and it'll stay really fast
01:45Also, this phone does have 128GB of internal storage
01:48And 6GB of RAM on the base model
01:52And what's cool about this phone is that you actually have a headphone jack
01:55So believe it or not, this phone does have a headphone jack
01:58Which is very rare for 2023 to have a flagship phone with a headphone jack
02:04So that's really awesome
02:06And then you also have on here some very, very good sounding stereo speakers
02:11Really good bass quality, very loud, especially for the size of this phone
02:15So awesome speakers and a headphone jack is just an awesome combo
02:19What's really cool about this phone is my favorite implementation of the fingerprint sensor
02:23And that is on the side, guys
02:26It just feels so much more natural, even than the in-display fingerprint sensor to me
02:30So I absolutely love that about this phone
02:33And then you also have on this phone very good cameras
02:36It's got a 50MP standard and a 12MP ultrawide
02:40I think this came, was really high on the list in MKBHD's blind smartphone test
02:45I think this did a really good job
02:47So I feel like that's a testament to how good the cameras are
02:50It shoots in 8K24, 12MP standard, not standard but a selfie cam
02:56And then shoots in 4K30
02:58Beautiful photos, guys, like I said
03:00Very nice colors, good quality when it comes to detail and overall the image processing
03:08The ultrawide is pretty good on here as well too
03:11There's no dedicated telephoto lens
03:14You can get a pretty good decent zoom shot on here
03:17So yeah, I just absolutely love the cameras on here
03:19Video is really solid
03:21Just really like the cameras on this phone
03:23I think they're really solid
03:25Now, the battery life will surprise you
03:27So typically with smaller phones, the battery life is gonna suck
03:31But on this phone, it has very good battery life
03:354300mAh battery, 30W wire charging
03:38The only thing this phone doesn't have is wireless charging
03:41So if you can get over that
03:43It's just a beast when it comes to battery life
03:46Charges decently fast and screen on time
03:49This phone, I couldn't kill it in a day
03:51It lasts for me as a light user, day and a half, easy
03:55Awesome phone, guys, definitely check it out
03:57Alright, next is the Galaxy S23
03:59So everyone always asks about the S23 Ultra
04:03And I never really get to talk about this phone that much
04:05Because a lot of people just, they don't ask about it
04:07But guys, the battery issue is pretty much fixed with this phone
04:11If you guys watch my battery drain test
04:13That's why a lot of people shy away from the smaller ones
04:15The battery life is excellent on this phone
04:18We're gonna get to that a little bit later
04:20But I do have a battery drain test if you guys wanna check that out
04:22That was the main issue with this phone
04:24Now, you can find this phone for around $700-$750
04:28Depending on where you shop
04:29I have some links down below for you guys
04:31But yes, I really like using this phone, guys
04:35Now that the battery was fixed, it's a really, really nice phone
04:38So it's got the aluminum frame on here
04:40I think the design still looks pretty sweet on here
04:43It's IP68 dust and water resistant
04:45Feels really good in the hand as well too
04:48It's not as boxy as the S23 Ultra
04:51And it's a smaller device at 6.1 inches
04:53So it's a little bit easier to hold
04:55Dynamic AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, and then it actually gets up to 1750 nits peak brightness
05:03So it's a very bright display outdoors
05:05Just a beautiful panel, 1080p, 425 for the PPI
05:09Just a beautiful panel, very slim bezels on here
05:12Absolutely love the design front to back on here
05:15Of course, we got Android 13 on here with the Snapdragon HN2 processor
05:20And that is very fast on here
05:22And what's also very cool about this phone is that
05:25Just like the S23 Ultra, this phone does not get as hot as the S22 and the S21
05:31So that's something that I really like
05:33Whether it's gaming or you're doing something a little bit more intensive
05:36Like, you know, filming a 4K video or something like that
05:39It's not going to heat up as much
05:41Which is something that I really like
05:43You also have 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM on here
05:47Stereo speakers sound great, they're very loud
05:50So that's really awesome
05:51And of course you have your under the display fingerprint sensor
05:54All the bells and whistles with Samsung desktop support
05:58And the cameras on here are pretty much on par with the S23 Ultra
06:02It's just missing that, you know, 100x zoom and all that fancy stuff
06:06But still, great camera for anybody who just wants to do a point and click
06:10It's got a 50MP standard and a 10MP telephoto, 3x optical zoom
06:14A 12MP ultrawide, it shoots in 8K30 as well too
06:19And then a 12MP selfie cam that shoots in 4K60
06:23Excellent cameras, like I said, it's a flagship phone
06:26So you're going to get flagship quality photos
06:28And like I said, it's pretty much on par with the S23 Ultra
06:31Minus the 100x zoom and all that good stuff
06:34So just an awesome, awesome phone for taking photos and video as well too
06:39Like I said, the highlight with this phone is the battery life
06:423900mAh battery, 25W wire charging
06:46Which again is not that fast
06:48It's got the wireless and reverse wireless charging
06:50Battery life is excellent on this device
06:53I can't stress that enough
06:54I think it beat the S23 Ultra in the PUBG drain test
06:58So check that out
06:59And it didn't get really hot and stuff like that
07:01Of course it got warm, but it didn't get super hot
07:03Like I was thinking it was going to do
07:05Yeah, so absolutely great battery life
07:08Easy day and a half for this phone
07:10Definitely worth checking out
07:12Alright guys, next is the iPhone 12
07:14If you have an iPhone 7, 8, iPhone 6, iPhone 10
07:18This is the phone that I would upgrade to
07:20Because you're not really breaking the bank when you buy this phone
07:23Because it's like around $1200
07:25Not $1200, $400
07:28And yeah, that's a really good deal for this phone
07:31Because let's be real
07:32The iPhone 12, there's almost pretty much no difference
07:34Between this one and the iPhone 14
07:36That's why I said this is an excellent buy
07:38So it's got the aluminum frame
07:40It's IP68 dust and water resistant
07:42Basically looks like an iPhone 14
07:44You know, the cameras are just switched around on the newer ones
07:48It's got the 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display
07:521200 nits peak brightness
07:54It's 1080p+, 460 for the PPI
07:57Basically the same screen as the iPhone 14
08:00And it's a beautiful panel, you know, color wise
08:03And I think, you know, no one will have an issue with the screen
08:06Of course you got the notch up top
08:08But I think, yeah, the iPhone 14 still has the notch
08:12So you're not missing out on anything
08:15You also have the Apple A14 chip on here as well too
08:19This phone will get updates for a very long time
08:21I believe Apple has about a 6 or 7 year software update pledge
08:25I guess, that's basically what they seem to be following
08:28You also have 64GB of internal storage
08:31And 4GB of RAM on here
08:33This phone is still blazing, blazing fast
08:36There's almost nothing that this phone can't really do
08:38It's a very fast phone
08:39Multitasking, playing the latest games
08:41There's almost no issue with this phone at all
08:44That I could see
08:46And then you also have great stereo speakers on here
08:48Face ID works really well on here
08:50Cameras are, again, basically on par with the newer phones
08:53Of course, you can spot, you know, minor differences
08:56With the newer iPhone 14
08:58But honestly, the average person probably won't be able to tell the difference at all
09:02You have a 12MP standard and a 12MP ultrawide
09:05It shoots in 4K 60 on the front and back
09:08With a 12MP selfie cam
09:10Again, to me, basically the same cameras as the iPhone 14
09:14Not a major difference
09:15So you're still getting flagship quality camera
09:18And also excellent video on here as well too
09:21So just an overall very good camera as you guys know with iPhones
09:25Always, you know, pretty dependable cameras
09:27This phone has pretty decent battery life
09:30It has a 2815mAh battery
09:33You also get the MagSafe charging on here as well too
09:36With the wireless charging as well
09:38Battery life is pretty decent on the iPhone 12
09:40You can definitely get through a full day with this phone, no problem
09:43And yeah, I just really like this phone
09:45Because it feels basically like an iPhone 14
09:48Again, there's almost no difference
09:50So I would go for this one
09:51The next phone, a lot of people forgot about
09:54Because the Pixel 7 Pro was such a, you know, pretty good improvement
09:57But the Pixel 6 Pro, once the software got, you know, pretty much ironed out
10:02This phone is awesome experience, guys
10:04It's like $330 on Amazon
10:06And the standard Pixel 6, which is also very good
10:09It's like $200
10:10So a lot of people forgot about this device
10:13And it's a really awesome deal for anybody
10:15Who's looking for a flagship phone
10:17I mean, this is just great
10:18You have a pretty good design on here
10:22It's the design that Google looks like they're gonna stay with
10:25It's a very unique design with the camera bar
10:28And I really like it, it gives a very unique look
10:30It's got the aluminum frame
10:32And then you also got IP68 dust and water resistant on here as well
10:36And it feels pretty solid in the hand
10:38I really like the way it feels
10:39This phone has the LTPO AMOLED display
10:42It's 120Hz HDR10+, 6.7 inches
10:46And then it's 1440p, 512 for the PPI
10:49Beautiful display on here, very sharp
10:51Very smooth panel with Android 13 on here
10:56Everything is just very fluid
10:57And again, this phone had a rough, you know, release with the software
11:01But it's got ironed out
11:03So everything is just really buttery smooth on this device now
11:06128GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM on board with this guy
11:10It's still a very fast phone
11:11The Google Tensor chip, the original one, it works fine
11:15You can play PUBG on it
11:16You can play the latest games, no issue on this phone
11:19I didn't really have an issue with performance at all
11:21Everything is, like I said, very silky smooth with the stock Android
11:25And again, this phone gets updates very very fast
11:28So that's one thing about Pixel devices
11:30You get the latest version of Android, so Android 14
11:32You get the betas first and all that good stuff
11:34So absolutely love stock Android
11:37And you also get stereo speakers with this phone
11:39Very loud sounding stereo speakers, great bass on here
11:43Under the display fingerprint sensor
11:44It's not the fastest, but it does work, no problem
11:48The only thing about this phone is that it doesn't have face unlock
11:52The 7 Pro does, but this one does not
11:54But again, the fingerprint sensor is decent
11:58So you do have a 50MP standard on here
12:01A 48MP telephoto, it does 4x optical zoom
12:04And then a 12MP ultrawide
12:07It shoots in 4K60 with a 11.1 ultrawide selfie cam
12:11On here as well too, and it shoots in 4K30
12:14The cameras on here are still very very good
12:17They basically are comparable to the Pixel 7 Pro
12:20I think Pixel takes some of the best deals to me in my opinion
12:24This is my go-to camera when I want to film
12:28All my YouTube shorts I film with Pixel
12:31And I really like taking pictures with the Pixel
12:33I really like the image processing
12:35It's my personal go-to
12:37And I just think the shots just come out really really good
12:40I really like Google's image processing
12:42This phone has pretty decent battery life
12:44It's got a 5000mAh battery
12:4623W wireless and reverse wireless charging is on here as well too
12:53Overall battery life is pretty decent
12:55You can easily get around 6 hours of screen on time
12:57And I absolutely love the Pixel 6 Pro
13:00I mean it's 335 right now, it's a very good deal
13:05Last is the Xiaomi 12T
13:07This is a really great device, it's a $500 phone
13:10And I really like it because Xiaomi puts IR blasters on their phones
13:14So you can control all the TVs in the house
13:16And appliances and stuff like that
13:18So I absolutely love that
13:20Also I've been a big fan of their design language
13:23Especially with the camera module
13:25I really like that as well
13:27So I'm a big fan of that
13:29And the hardware is pretty solid on this phone
13:31It's got a 6.67 inch display
13:33It's a 120Hz AMOLED HDR10+, 900 nits peak brightness
13:37It's a 2K display in 446 for the PPI
13:41Really nice, colorful, beautiful panel on here
13:44Now this phone does have the Android 13, MIUI 14 I believe
13:48And MIUI has a ton of features and stuff like that
13:51I know a lot of people, you the love or hate MIUI
13:54For me I think they're definitely improving on it
13:57And I didn't have any issues with this phone
14:00Everything was pretty smooth
14:01Yeah there can be a little bit bloatware on this phone
14:04But it's nothing that you can't uninstall
14:07As far as the specs
14:10It's a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra chip
14:14This chip is very fast guys
14:16Playing games on here was a breeze
14:19Just bouncing in and out of applications
14:22Watching the animations and stuff
14:24It's a very smooth chip
14:25I was really surprised by that
14:27So everything is just really fast on this phone
14:29128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM
14:32One here as well
14:33Two stereo speakers sound pretty good on here
14:35Pretty loud
14:36Like I said it has the infrared port on here
14:39So that's something that I really enjoy
14:41Under the display fingerprint sensor
14:43Pretty fast, no issues with that
14:45And the cameras on here
14:47Cameras on here are pretty decent
14:49I think that's where you sort of see like
14:51You know the price cut compared to flagship phones
14:55Like an actual S23 Ultra or like the 12 Pro
14:59108MP standard
15:01So it can take some very highly detailed shots
15:04For cropping
15:058MP ultrawide
15:072MP macro which is eh
15:09And then it shoots in 4K 30
15:1120MP selfie cam
15:13It only shoots in 1080p 60
15:15So you can see they sort of cut
15:16Where some phones can shoot in 4K 60
15:19And shoot in 4K 60 on the front
15:21You can see they kind of cut a little bit with the cameras
15:23But overall for a point and click
15:25I think this phone takes pretty good photos
15:27So you know if you're just out
15:29And you need a quick photo
15:30I don't think anybody would be upset
15:32With the image quality of this phone
15:34You have a 5000mAh battery
15:36And what is super super cool about this phone
15:39You get a 120W charger in the box guys
15:43That is absolutely
15:44You don't get that with the S23
15:45You don't get that with the iPhone Pixel
15:47That is awesome
15:48And this phone charges crazy fast
15:50Like 20 minutes from like 0 to 100
15:52And it's charged
15:54Absolutely nuts
15:55So good battery life on here
15:57And it just charges
15:58So you gotta give it points for that
15:59Like that's just nuts
