00:00Yes, brother, what is your name and profession and what question do you want to ask?
00:05Assalam-o-Alaikum. My name is Mahesh Kumar Haseeja. I am a member of the Professional Assembly.
00:11I am from Pakistan. First of all, I would like to welcome Dr Zakir Naik on behalf of non-Muslims.
00:18And the way you have received us, it is obvious that you are Pakistan's most favorite Indian.
00:27My question is that being a member of the Provincial Assembly, we have a lot of cases of forced conversion.
00:37In which young girls fall in love with someone and accept Islam.
00:47What is the importance of this kind of acceptance, in which apart from the love of Allah and His Messenger,
00:55there is love for a person, greed for money, or any other reason.
01:06Thank you so much.
01:09Our Mahesh Bhai has asked an important question that there are many cases of forced conversion here.
01:17And he said that if someone converts himself, whether due to love or because of someone's desire,
01:27then is it permissible in Islam?
01:29Mahesh Bhai, forced conversion and conversion due to love are not the same.
01:34The meaning of forced conversion is to put a gun on someone's head and say, accept this religion.
01:40Or to threaten someone. That is called forced conversion.
01:44But if someone converts due to love, that is not called forced conversion.
01:49So forced conversion is haraam in Islam.
01:53Allah says in Surah Baqarah, Surah 2, Ayat 266, 256.
01:59Sorry, my Urdu is getting worse.
02:02But the first two or three are good.
02:04So, in Surah Baqarah, Surah 2, Ayat 256,
02:09There is no compulsion in Islam.
02:17So, forced conversion means to threaten someone and change their religion.
02:25So, if someone converts to Islam by force,
02:29whether with a gun or a sword,
02:31then this is haraam in Islam.
02:33But your question is,
02:35if someone accepts Islam out of love,
02:40then is it permissible?
02:42If someone accepts Islam out of love, without any pressure,
02:47without any pressure,
02:49if someone is a non-Muslim,
02:51whether a Hindu or a Christian,
02:53if someone accepts Islam out of love for a Muslim,
02:57then this is not permissible.
03:02But if someone accepts Islam,
03:05or does,
03:07or says,
03:09or believes,
03:11that Allah is One,
03:13and there is no God other than Allah,
03:15and Muhammad is the last prophet and last messenger,
03:19then this is permissible.
03:23It is not better,
03:25because he did it out of love,
03:27but it can become a means.
03:29We cannot say,
03:31whether he accepted Islam out of love or not.
03:34If someone does not force,
03:36does not have a sword,
03:38does not have a gun,
03:40and accepts Islam out of love,
03:42it is possible that she does not know about Islam,
03:46but she accepts Islam out of love.
03:49How do you know,
03:51that after a few months,
03:53she can become a good Muslim,
03:55a good Muslim woman.
03:57So, if someone wants to accept Islam,
04:00without any pressure,
04:02then he should be accepted.
04:05If she believes,
04:07that Allah is One,
04:09and there is no God other than Allah,
04:11and Muhammad is the last prophet and last messenger,
04:14then we cannot say,
04:16that she is not a Muslim.
04:18Hope that answers the question.
