00:00Oh, bloody hell! Get off me! No! No!
00:05Okay, so this is my regular setup. You may have seen it before.
00:09But it doesn't really compare to this.
00:11Holy moly, that's insane.
00:13I've got three 48-inch monitors side-by-side.
00:17These are the ASUS ROG PG48UQs.
00:21138Hz overclock, up to 900 nits, 4K obviously, and 48 inches.
00:29Look at that! I've barely got room in my studio for this.
00:33And as soon as you sit in the hot seat, you just are fully immersed.
00:37We're looking at a 1152x2160 resolution.
00:41That is a 48x9 aspect ratio.
00:45Now what I love about this is that the bezels are actually really thin.
00:49Which means you can put them side-by-side and there really isn't that much of a gap.
00:54Now behind the scenes, literally, if I can scramble over without knocking my speakers over, that was dangerous.
01:00And actually I've just stuck them on some stands.
01:03I bought these on Amazon for about £60.
01:05We have this screw thread there so you can mount cameras or lights.
01:09And with this setup, I've got two of the displays hooked up to the PC via HDMI ports and one via DisplayPort.
01:15And just a quick thank you to ASUS ROG for sponsoring this video and for sending over these awesome peripherals.
01:21Including the ROG Chakram X Gaming Mouse.
01:24We've got the ROG Strix Scope NX Wireless Deluxe Keyboard.
01:28Bit of a mouthful.
01:29And the ROG Delta S Wireless Headset.
01:31Which all together help make this one incredible setup.
01:40Okay, let's talk about this rig.
01:42And at the centre of it we have the ROG Strix Gaming 4090 OC.
01:46This is a bit of a beast of a card.
01:48Not the regular Strix 4090, the OC.
01:50And this is it.
01:51Three and a half slot.
01:52Big fan array.
01:53There's a huge fan array at one side.
01:55We've got three axial fans underneath.
01:57Some Aura Sync here for your GoFaster lighting.
02:00It's an incredible card.
02:02And actually you're open to a bit more overclocking because there is more power and thermal headroom here as well.
02:06But importantly, so you're not bottlenecking your card, make sure you've got a pretty beefy CPU as well.
02:10I've got the 7950X.
02:1216 cores.
02:13Goes up to 5.7 GHz before overclocking.
02:16And even with this, I found I was CPU limited in some games.
02:19So if you are going to get a setup with a card like this, make sure you've got a CPU to go with it.
02:24Then we've got these two sticks of 6200 MHz DDR5 RAM from Corsair.
02:29Which is pretty much I think the fastest RAM you can get at the moment.
02:321000 watts PSU.
02:34All inside this Fractal Torrent case.
02:36It's a nice setup.
02:37And actually I've got all this lighting set up with the iCUE software for Corsair.
02:40Except of course the Aura Sync with the ROG card.
02:43It's certainly not cheap.
02:44But if you do fancy checking out a system like this, I'll leave links in the description below.
02:48A pretty powerful rig.
02:49And it has to be if you're going to power three 4K displays like this.
02:54And then the first thing to do is jump into the NVIDIA control panel.
02:58Go to multiple displays.
03:00And turn on NVIDIA Surround.
03:05What you might be able to notice is there's actually not that many reflections.
03:09I've got all my windows open behind here.
03:11Including a light.
03:12And Pete who's actually flying flights in right now.
03:14Because I can't do that while I'm filming this.
03:16And we've got this anti-reflective coating.
03:18Which does a really good job as well.
03:20So if you are going to use these displays in a multi-monitor setup.
03:23That is a big help if you've got any windows or lights.
03:26But enough waffling.
03:27I think it's time I sit in the hot seat.
03:29And play some games on this.
03:32First question.
03:33Can it run Crysis?
03:34Yes.
03:35I've got Crysis Remastered running here.
03:37With all the settings set to can it run Crysis.
03:39What's the resolution?
03:40Yep. 11520 by 2160.
03:43I think there's three types of games you'd want to play on a setup like this.
03:47FPS shooters.
03:48Where you've got that peripheral vision showing you where the bad guys are.
03:51Particularly in Warzone.
03:53Fortnite looks great on this as well.
03:55And then you've got RPGs.
03:56Just for that immersive factor.
03:58And then sims.
03:59This is an ideal simulator rig for F1-22.
04:02For Flight Sim.
04:04Now I'm not going to say we haven't had any issues with this setup.
04:07There's been a couple of teething problems.
04:08But then again we are still running on pre-release drivers.
04:11For the card.
04:12The 1490.
04:13It's a brand new card.
04:14Brand new build as well.
04:15So we're sort of figuring this out as we go.
04:17So yes it can play Crysis.
04:18But now let's switch over to something that I actually want to play.
04:24Oh!
04:26No!
04:28This is so unrealistic.
04:29Now the eagle-eyed among you may realise that I've actually swapped my desk out.
04:34Oh no!
04:35That's a terrible start.
04:36That's a terrible start.
04:37This is just like the Japanese Grand Prix.
04:38Because I wanted to fit this racing wheel.
04:41This is the Logitech G923.
04:43Because we're playing a bit of F1-22 now.
04:45And so far I've got to say I think this has been the best experience.
04:49Now if you are a regular on the channel you know that I've tried all sorts of setups.
04:52Ultrawide monitors.
04:53Super ultrawides.
04:54I've used TVs quite a few times.
04:56For both work and gaming.
04:58The problem with using TVs.
04:59I've used the LG C1 and the C2.
05:01Is that they're not really meant for PC gaming.
05:04And one of the big issues actually is dimming.
05:07They haven't got the heatsinks like these monitors do.
05:10They're high refresh as well.
05:11Not just 120Hz.
05:12We've got 138Hz with an overclock.
05:15Just lots of gaming specific features makes this a much better option than using say a TV or multiple TVs.
05:20And of course being OLED means we have those ridiculous contrast ratios.
05:24Also really good viewing angles.
05:25That's a big deal as well.
05:26Because obviously I've got these two TVs that have monitors in my periphery.
05:31And you want each display to have the best viewing angles possible.
05:35So OLED is a big help with that.
05:37Actually I'll tell you what.
05:38This wheel is making a huge difference as well to the experience.
05:43They already look great on the screens.
05:45And it plays incredibly smoothly.
05:46What are we getting?
05:47105 frames per second.
05:49Maxed out 4K f1.22.
05:51But having this controller.
05:52Same if you're going to play Flight Sim.
05:54Definitely get yourself some flight controls.
05:56It really does add to the experience.
05:59Now the best alternative to this setup would be probably a VR headset.
06:03Whether your Index or your Vive.
06:05That would give you a more wraparound experience I suppose.
06:08But you're not going to get anything like the visual quality.
06:11The frame rate.
06:12And the sharpness of these displays in this setup.
06:15Alternatively you could do a super ultra wide.
06:17We have 49 inch super ultra wide curve displays.
06:20They're very nice.
06:21And the benefit there is.
06:22Well it's cheaper than this setup.
06:25And also you don't have any bezels.
06:27Which is nice.
06:28And a lot easier to set up.
06:30But again those resolutions are nowhere near 11520 by 2160.
06:35So in terms of PPI.
06:37The sharpness and the detail of this is unmatched.
06:40It really is.
06:41This is as close to the real thing as I'm ever going to get.
06:44Oh my goodness.
06:45Oh my goodness.
06:46I'm stuck in this wheel.
06:48Just get off me.
06:51100% realism right there.
06:53I just want to show you this quickly.
06:55This is Art of Rally.
06:56And I realise that my steering wheel doesn't actually work.
06:59But the joystick on my mouse does.
07:01Have a look at that.
07:03This is the ROG Chakram X mouse.
07:05It's got a 4-way directional joystick on it.
07:09Which I have not seen before.
07:11Can I lick it?
07:12I don't know why.
07:14Now being a monitor unlike a TV.
07:16We also have a touch screen.
07:18Now being a monitor unlike a TV.
07:19We also have the OSD.
07:21The on-screen display.
07:22There's a little joystick underneath here.
07:24We've got this ROG logo.
07:25Which you can turn off if you want.
07:26And in here you can turn on the overclocking.
07:28Adaptive sync with G-Sync compatibility.
07:30Change the brightness.
07:31Contrast.
07:32And then in input select we've got the display port.
07:34Which I'm using right now.
07:35As well as the four HDMI's.
07:37Because these are OLED displays.
07:38Of course you are worried about burn-in.
07:40But we have a screensaver on by default.
07:42We have pixel cleaning.
07:43We also have screen move.
07:44Which just shifts the pixels a little bit every now and then.
07:47And also it can adjust logo brightness.
07:49So if you've got static logos or task bars like this.
07:52It will adjust the brightness.
07:53So hopefully and I'm pretty confident.
07:55You're not going to have any burn-in issues with this.
08:02Alright look at this.
08:03Night City.
08:04Triple 4K.
08:06Holy moly that looks good.
08:08Obviously you've got quite a stretched view on the side monitors.
08:12This is all about field of view.
08:14And that's something you might actually want to change in some games.
08:17Field of view can make the periphery look quite stretched.
08:20Some games it sort of just works perfectly.
08:22Others it looks a bit weird if you look right off to the edge.
08:25Inventory at the bottom left.
08:26I've got my objectives on the far right.
08:28So you're definitely going to have to twist your head to get all the information you want.
08:33And obviously we're running all this on a single GPU.
08:35Just the 14090.
08:36Now maxed out with the resolution we're at.
08:39We're not obviously hitting that 138Hz refresh rate.
08:43So you could drop some settings I guess.
08:45First of all not every game supports multi-monitor setups.
08:48And those that do you kind of have to tweak sometimes.
08:52I've had to do lots of updates.
08:53There's been a few issues I have to say.
08:55But I think it's all teething problems because this is all relatively new hardware.
08:58But certainly don't go into this kind of setup expecting it to be completely smooth sailing.
09:02You could just sit closer to your main screen if you just had the one 48-inch screen.
09:08Which is already crazy for most of us.
09:10You can sit closer.
09:11That fills up more of your vision.
09:13And then you're not powering three 4K displays.
09:16What is kind of helpful though is...
09:18Oh God.
09:19Look how stretched that is.
09:21Oh no.
09:22That's not good.
09:23So I suppose in some games it does help with the situational awareness.
09:26This is more on screen.
09:27More information.
09:28Whether it's too much.
09:29Whether it's information overload.
09:31Maybe the case as well.
09:33There we go.
09:34On a bike.
09:36You've got to admit.
09:37As ludicrous as this setup is.
09:40That does look good.
09:42In fact, what game would you play on this if you had it in front of you?
09:46What's the first game you'd play?
09:47Let me know in the comments below.
09:49I'll tell you what I do want to play.
09:50Rogue Squadron.
09:55This does look good on OLED.
09:57Look at that.
09:58I'll tell you what.
09:59Andor has made me want to play more Star Wars games again.
10:02Also, with the extra screens I can see my sidey bits on my X-Wing.
10:07Whatever you call them.
10:10I'm old enough to remember playing X-Wing on floppy disks on my PC about a million years ago.
10:17And in my mind it looked as good as this.
10:19If I knew old Tom would be playing this.
10:25I don't think I'd believe it.
10:27Also, pretty good built-in speakers.
10:30I've got to say.
10:31I think I'd still recommend if you're going to spend this kind of money on a setup getting a good external speaker.
10:36But the built-in speakers in these monitors are actually pretty damn good.
10:45Okay, a bit of a ludicrous setup.
10:47But let me know what you make of this in the comments below.
10:49Also, don't forget while we've just been talking about games.
10:51This kind of setup with this much desktop real estate is pretty great for multitasking.
10:57There's some F-off Premiere Pro timeline going on as well.
11:00And also these displays have pretty high color accuracy.
11:03They're DCI-P3 optimized.
11:05So I might try some video editing on it as well.
11:08But certainly not as fun as gaming.
11:10Thank you so much for watching guys.
11:11And I'll see you next time right here on The Tech Channel.
