00:40:36Before my remarks, we have an unbelievably sized crowd this evening.
00:40:42evening. I wanted to just make sure that our friends up there, we all say hi to our friends
00:40:54up there. Our friends down here, we say hi to all of them. A very wise individual recently
00:41:08said to me, when it comes to the pantheon of top men and top women in professional wrestling,
00:41:16who would be the next leader? He said that the next one doesn't always look like the
00:41:20last one. It's been a quote I've been thinking about quite a bit lately. But in regards to
00:41:29this crown jewel championship, it's not about the next one. It's not about the last one.
00:41:37It's about who is going to be the first one. So many what ifs in the history of our sport.
00:41:51I'll take you down that road. What if the NWA world champion Harley Race fought against
00:41:58the WWWF's Bruno Sammartino? What if the AWA's Nick Bockwinkle went against the nature boy
00:42:06Ric Flair, champion versus champion? What if WCW's Bill Goldberg fought Stone Cold Steve
00:42:17Austin? And often when these what ifs did come to fruition, the outcome was not always
00:42:29satisfactory, a clever out if you will. When it comes to crown jewel, at the end of that
00:42:36night, there will be a definitive crown jewel champion. Again, champion versus champion.
00:42:49I am not going to stand here and disparage my opponent, RAW's world heavyweight champion
00:42:56Gunther. Widely respected by his peers and legends alike, brother could chop a tree down
00:43:11with his hand. Most men who walk those hallways are terrified of Gunther. I'm not. But even
00:43:24if I was, I wouldn't bet against me. Why do I think that I am leaving crown jewel as
00:43:34champion? Well, for starters, look at this thing. Corey Gray's been talking about it
00:43:44all night on commentary, one of the most beautifully designed title belts in the history of our
00:43:51sport. But beauty, beauty is only skin deep. In the last two plus years, you and I, the
00:43:59WWE audience, pro wrestling fans alike, we have gotten to know each other, have we not?
00:44:07So you know, when I came back to WWE, I wanted to take the John Cena schedule. I wanted to
00:44:15take that model. And by God, we did take that schedule. Hell, we even added to that
00:44:21schedule. I have bled. I have sweat. I have paid the price. And I am not foolish enough
00:44:27to think that I am done paying the price. But again, it's almost skin deep. The real
00:44:39reason that I think I'm leaving crown jewel as champion. She's sitting at home right now.
00:44:50She's about three foot tall. And I need her to know that when my bones turn to dust, my
00:44:57name will be attached to this title as its first champion. I need her to know the name
00:45:02was given to me is the same name that was given to her. And it will matter. And she
00:45:07will know you play the game not to lose, but you play to win. Now, I'd like to invite
00:45:23next Friday on SmackDown, the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther to stand in this ring with
00:45:28me. I'd like to ask him what his reasons for all of this are. And I'd like to look him
00:45:35in the eyes and say, Hey, champ, what do you want to talk about?
00:45:42Well, there you have it. The American nightmare laying down the gauntlet in fighting the World
00:45:53Heavyweight Champion Gunther to SmackDown next week. Wade, do you think Gunther's going
00:45:58to answer the call? Gunther backs down to nobody. And let me tell you this, Gloria,
00:46:03Crown Jewel, there are massive implications for the legacies of both Cody Rhodes and
00:46:08the ring general, Gunther, depending who wins that matchup and that new champion.
00:46:13It certainly seems that Cody Rhodes has been able to shift his focus to Gunther and the
00:46:17Crown Jewel Championship. However, I've got to believe that in the back of the American
00:46:21nightmare's mind, one man is haunting every thought of Cody's. You know what I'm talking
00:46:28about? I know exactly who you're talking about.
00:46:30Here's the couple of weeks ago, KO, inexplicably jumping Cody Rhodes in the aftermath of the

00:46:45Kevin was told not to show up last week on SmackDown and moments before a confrontation
00:46:51between Owens and Rhodes, Randy Orton, of all people, would play peacekeeper between
00:46:55his two friends.
00:46:57Randy Orton tried to calm down KO, received an errant shot immediately, gave one back
00:47:03to KO, and then later on, as these two were discussing the issue, KO savagely attacked
00:47:11his now former friend, Randy Orton. It would appear that Kevin Owens is now back to his
00:47:17most unpredictable worst. Keep clear.
00:47:27I've been in WWE now for about 10 years. Actually, it's been over 10 years, just recently.
00:47:35And I've had a lot of ups and downs over those 10 years, but I don't think things have ever
00:47:41felt as bad as they do right now. Because for WWE officials to tell me to stay home
00:47:53and not come to work, not come to SmackDown where I belong because of what I did to Cody
00:47:58Rhodes after Bad Blood is just so unfair and ridiculous. I mean, look at what we've seen
00:48:09WWE superstars do to each other in and out of the ring, in the locker rooms, all the
00:48:15ambush attacks, the beat downs. And I get told to stay away because I dropped their
00:48:23little golden boy outside of a stupid bus. Come on. You know, that really that really
00:48:34makes me ask myself just how appreciated and valued I am by this company. But that you
00:48:43know, that I can I can live with. I can kind of get past that. What I can't get over, though,
00:48:48is what Randy Orton did to me. Randy, I can't believe you betrayed me like that. You know,
00:49:00you can let people say whatever they want about me. Kevin Owens turns on all his friends,
00:49:04blah, blah, blah. It doesn't matter. I would have never done that to you ever. Because
00:49:11I thought what we had was different. Dude, I. I just can't believe you picked Cody Rhodes
00:49:22over me. And, you know, I got to be honest with everybody, I with everything that's happening
00:49:30right now between the disrespect shown to me by WWE and Randy breaking my my trust like
00:49:40that, I. I really don't know if or when. I can come back. Kevin Owens, I don't know
00:50:01what anyone else has planned for Kevin Owens, but I need to get my hands on Kevin Owens
00:50:06and I'm going to do it at Crown Jewel. I had a feeling this was coming, Randy. I'm

00:54:49Yeah, absolutely. They have dominated around the world. The question is, can you do it
00:54:54under the biggest spotlight of all against the best teams here in WWE?

00:55:06just dropped Shelley with a right hand. Remember Waller in theory back at WrestleMania became
