00:00This is a guy I've heard a lot about in Wisconsin.
00:03This was a race that was expected to be competitive, but I think a lot of people put on the back
00:08burner.
00:09The polling now seems to indicate that this has not only become competitive, but hyper
00:13competitive.
00:15It's out of the state of Wisconsin.
00:16Let's see, Eric Hovde, Tammy Baldwin race, Eric Hovde is a Republican nominee.
00:20It's a real pleasure to talk to him today.
00:22Eric, thanks for joining us.
00:23We appreciate it.
00:24Dan, it's great being on your show.
00:27Thanks for having me.
00:28You have run, from what I've heard from trusted friends, I'm not talking about Swampies.
00:32I mean people who are real conservatives, one of the cleanest campaigns in a long time.
00:39They've been particularly impressed with your ability to absolutely stay on message.
00:42And here's what I'm hearing from, Evita Duffy works with me over here.
00:47Her mother is Rachel from Fox and her father, Sean Duffy, was a congressman there.
00:51They know Wisconsin politics better than anyone.
00:54And they've told me that it's really hard anywhere in Wisconsin to find a Harris-Walz
00:59sign anywhere that the excitement for not only Donald Trump, but Republican candidates
01:04like you, Eric Hovde, is very real and Wisconsin could turn back in our column.
01:10Look, if you drive our state, and I'm driving right now to an event, you'll see Trump and
01:16Hovde signs everywhere.
01:18If this vote was decided by signs, it would be a 90-10 landslide.
01:24But look, I've been staying on the issues.
01:27Look, the people of Wisconsin have been hurt, like everybody, with inflation.
01:32We're crushing the middle and working class and the elderly, talking about the open border,
01:38all the, I call it the rotten onion.
01:40Why do I say that term?
01:42Because an onion has many layers to it.
01:45You know, it's compounding the housing and healthcare problems, access to both of those
01:51when we bring in 16, 20 million illegal immigrants.
01:54The crime issues, we had a, believe it or not, Dan, we had a mother and her daughter
02:00in a small town of 5,000 people where a Venezuelan gang member brutally raped and assaulted them
02:06for over a day.
02:08And we've had multiple incidences.
02:10And then I talk a lot about the fentanyl crisis.
02:12We lost 108,000 Americans last year, 112,000 the year before.
02:19This poison's produced in China, brought to the drug cartels, brought up over our southern border.
02:25It's the number one leading cause of death of 18 to 45-year-olds.
02:30And then lastly, the humanitarian crisis.
02:32Look, I've been fighting against the sex trafficking trade for 20 years.
02:37I have my foundation with Hovde Homes around the world, and I've been doing a lot in this
02:42country.
02:43In fact, I funded something called Spotlight, a tool that all law enforcement uses to try
02:48to scan where young people are being trafficked, because most of it's done on the internet.
02:54And what they've done, where they can't account for 300,000 children, and sadly, I can say
03:00a lot of those children have ended up in the sex trade.
03:03So what they've done to our country and the crazy things, pushing for boys to play in
03:09girls' sports and guys to go in girls' locker rooms and bathrooms, it's insanity.
03:14We all know it.
03:15They've turned our country upside down, our morality upside down.
03:19As I say, I feel like I've entered into a bad episode of the Twilight Zone, where what
03:24is right has become wrong, and what is wrong has become right.
03:27Hey, in these crazy days, we got to recharge and refresh in a natural way.
03:32To that end, I discovered BoneCharge, a holistic wellness brand with a huge range of evidence-based

04:44We're talking to Eric Hovde, Republican nominee for the United States Senate in the state
04:49of Wisconsin.
04:50Remember the name, H-O-V-D-E.
04:52Eric, I have to applaud you for taking the transgender sports issue head on.
04:59You know, liberals want to paint this as kind of a tertiary or a quaternary issue, and it's
05:03not really that big of a deal.
05:05You Republicans are making a big deal of it.
05:06You know, it is a big deal.
05:08It's not just about locker rooms, although that's bad enough.
05:11It's not just about a volleyball game.
05:14It's about a cultural shift and an attack on our objective values.
05:18You want to live your own personal life as an adult, your way, fine.
05:22We're Republicans.
05:23We're the party of individual freedom, meaning you do you, I do me.
05:26That's not what's happening.
05:28What's happening now, Eric, and you've been speaking forcefully about this.
05:31I read a nice Wall Street Journal piece about you a couple of weeks ago, is that they're
05:35forcing this ideology on us, saying you will essentially comply, and we're saying, no,
05:41no, no.
05:42No, no, no.
05:43That's not our thing.
05:44That's your thing.
05:45You leave that in your zone of influence, and I'm going to do mine.
05:48And from what I'm hearing, you going head on at this issue has really created a groundswell
05:55of support for you against Tammy Baldwin, who, of course, is all in on the men and women's
05:59locker rooms thing.
06:01Oh, 100 percent.
06:02Look, it's personal for me because I'm a girl's dad, and my youngest daughter was the female
06:09athlete of the year in the state of Wisconsin in 2017.
06:13She was a suburb athlete.
06:15And to think that she would have had to compete against guys.
06:19Look, when I grew up, girls didn't have a lot of opportunities in sports.
06:23And then I saw how they got all these opportunities.
06:27I thought, how wonderful.
06:28And I loved cheering my daughter on, both my daughters, but my youngest one was just
06:33a freak athlete.
06:34And to see that we're attacking and destroying their sport, and then to think that they're
06:39trying to force through the Department of Education and the Department of Agriculture,
06:44telling school districts, if you don't accept this and the change to Title IX, then we'll
06:50deprive you of your money.
06:51I mean, where do they get off?
06:54The last thing I want is for our young girls to have some guy in there when they're trying
06:59to change or going to the bathroom.
07:01So yeah, you're exactly right.
07:02If you're an adult, you want to do what you want to do, go ahead.
07:05But you know what they're pushing, and then transgendering young kids.
07:09I mean, look, we don't allow kids to get in a car and drive till 16, 17.
07:14We don't allow them to vote till 18 or join the military.
07:17We don't allow them to drink alcohol till 21, but we're going to give them medications
07:23that fundamentally change their hormones and do a ton of damage or mutilate their body
07:29as children.
07:30It's insanity.
07:31And it's just time we all stand up and say, we're not taking it anymore.
07:35So you know, I've made it an issue because we got to take this country back.
07:40We got to get back to common sense, morality, and all the things that made our country great.
07:46Talking to Eric Hovde, Republican nominee for the United States Senate in Wisconsin
07:51in an unbelievably tight race.
07:54Even liberal-leaning polls have this thing within the margin of error.
07:58Folks, we've got to vote down ballot.
08:00Do not forget, if you are in the state of Wisconsin and you are voting for Donald Trump,
08:05you have to fill in that bubble, please, for Eric Hovde.
08:09We have a Democrat Senate and a Democrat House.
08:11There will be an impeachment on day one for some made-up charge.
08:14Eric, I know you're running a really good race because you and Dave McCormick have been
08:18closing a lot of ground in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, respectively.
08:23And their attacks on both of you are the same.
08:26And they're candidly hilarious.
08:28The Democrat Tammy Baldwin attack on you, from what I've seen, is basically, and I'm
08:32not making this up, that you're a successful businessman.
08:36It's almost like she's pretending, Jim's laughing, my producer, but I've read the attacks and
08:41I'm like, this really appeals to the lowbrow voter.
08:45The entire attack is like, man, this guy made money, and you're like, that's the point.
08:50You want a failed businessman?
08:52I don't understand.
08:53You want people in the U.S. Senate who've never succeeded in business?
08:56You and McCormick, the exact same attacks.
09:00That's how I know they're really desperate and they really have nothing else.
09:04Look, you used a great sports analogy, and that was if President Trump becomes president
09:10and he doesn't have a House and Senate, then it's like a quarterback without an offensive line.
09:15He's just going to get killed and he won't be able to move the ball down the field.
09:19Well, that is absolutely correct.
09:22Let me use another one.
09:24What do you want if your quarterback for your football team goes down?
09:27I'm a diehard Packer fan.
09:28You want the very best quarterback you can find.
09:32Somebody who's been successful.
09:33You want the best.
09:34Don't we want people that actually understand how our economy works?
09:38How our health care system works?
09:41Why we're short housing?
09:43How would Senator Baldwin or any of these career politicians understand any of that?
09:48I have a real estate development company.
09:51I understand the problems of housing.
09:52I've employed thousands of employees.
09:55I understand the problems in our health care, which is causing costs to go up and access
10:00to go down.
10:01I understand what we're doing by all this debt and we're destroying our country's economic
10:05future and the fact that we're heading rapidly into a debt crisis.
10:11I understand how our financial markets work.
10:13He has no clue on any of this.
10:16And we so need people with expertise.
10:18Look, our founding fathers, what did they want?
10:21They wanted citizen legislators, people that had skill sets, be it a businessman, farmer,
10:27a doctor to go serve a term or to make this country better and then return back to their
10:36community.
10:37That's my whole view on it.
10:39I would never have done this except my country, the country I love.
10:43It's failing.
10:44And I couldn't sit on the sideline and passively just watch my country get melted down.
10:50So I want to go serve for a term or two and then get the heck out of that swamp.
10:56Hey, thanks so much for listening.
10:58You can check out my radio show every day on a station near you.
